it's a switchup you do without jumping, like if you just pivot around on top of a box...not to be confused with spinning onto a box and continuing to spin wildly, youve got to lock it when you get on the feature then initiate it afterward. best done as a pretzel.

and yah, it's a bit of a fail, but at least you didnt do something like try to ask a serious question about chad's gap or try to get advice about directional skis

you can see in the link I just put up (dont know if it worked if not ill put another one up later) but you can see at 0:21 and at 0:43 that he is doing surface switch ups. I think the example of the 0:43 is more obvious since you can really see him slide the switch up instead of hopping it.

but yeah really the difference is that you slide instead of hopping, gives it a smoother look I find!

Best description I've heard of a surface swap. It's usually rotated very fast too, not a slow rotation.

We out here at 7Springs (Mt. Murder) refer to them as "Dedhalian" switchups because when noah started droppin em on 2 seasons ago the La Familia crew was hot shit and Ahmet like did em first.

I dunno where the term surface switchup came from... but it makes sense regardless

Actually, I think that Surface is going to make a park ski sort of like the Afterbang. Only they're calling it the Switch Up.

surface switch ups on rails are so illin. pretty easy on a box, but doing it on a rail is the true test.
