with just your account, you may be screwed. if its downloaded from itunes, they charge if you need to re-download. time to get some torrents going

depends which part you are trying to overcome.
I had to transfer my meticulously picked through library, which was no easy task when my music is scattered all over my hard drive. My problem was that i spend far too much time going through my msic, and deleting songs i dont like
problem is the songs remain on my hard drive. so when i copied my entire my music folder i had 5 times more songs (5000) than my original library (1000) including repeats.
so i made a playlist on my original computer, then you can save and move playlists. so i loaded that playlist on the new computer and then i had them all.....

but i doubt this is the type of problem you are facing. If you bought a bunch of songs from itunes, i wouldn't be able to help you, because i don't buy music, on the other hand i do have a $15  itunes card i'll sell you for $10.

i downloaded most of my songs from itunes, so it would really suck chuck norris if i couldnt get those songs back.

how dead is it?

if you can still turn it on and run programs, open itunes and find the "consolidate library" button. That'll move all your music to the itunes folder. then copy that onto a big fat flash drive and move it onto your new computer, and the first time you play a song bought on itunes, it'll say "computer not authorized" yadiyada. So put in your itunes password and you'll be good to go.

external harddrive, or just use a usb and do them in phase phases, not sure if you can email music but id look into it to see
