i've been religious about playing in my pickup league

ever since i quit playing competitively, hockey has become so fucking fun. i used to love it when i started, then as i played on better teams it just sucked more and more, now it's sick again, what a great sport

I am pretty religious about hockey every year. lots of radio hockey in the ski season though, on the way home from skiing.

well I'm Canadian so I'm religious about it every year, but yeah its been a pretty good season so far.

Leafs haven't won a game and the Sens are doing great so I can't complain!

Watched just about every Flyer's game so far. Sharks shit on us tonight, no good.
Watched most of the Canuck's games too, slow start but looking better.

Yeah... we had to pay back pronger for all those years in the west where he played dirty on us... and we already knew all of Boucher's tendencies...

that, and we have a 2nd goalie who can make 37 saves like it aint no thing, and a 3rd line with as much offensive output as the first 2...

Sharks bite hard.. Least we went easier on you than we did against New York.. haha.

Haha agreed you guys dumped Pronger so many times...
Some of those saves we're beyond ridiculous, that guy SUCH a good game. The one Giroux missed though was unfortunate. You guys are definitely going to the Western Conference Finals this year if you keep playing like that.

haha yeah.. i saw flashes of what greiss could do last season... but tonight proved that nabokov's glove and pad skills have worn off on him...

As long as we keep playing against the bad teams like we play against the good teams we will do well... our losses to phoenix and tampa bay were uncalled for..

and dude you're kidding right? they're in 1st place in the northeast division and their record is 6-1-1. I'd say that's pretty damn decent. Especially considering how god awful they were like 5 years ago. The lock out set a new standard and fortunately gave the sabres that crazy year with danny brierre. I went to one of their comeback playoff wins against the rangers that year...that place went fucking nuts...especially cuz upstate new york has a reputation for not winning anything that important. Like the buffalo bills...oh god...the bills.

A TRIANGLE HAS THREE POINTS! hahahaha good i love this joke, I told it to me dad, being a die hard leafs fan, he didn't find it funny in the least.

Like many other people in this thread, hockey has always been a religious thing for me. Its blasphemy if you proudly bare a Canadian flag, but don't like hockey, thats my opinion anyways.

Hockey is to Canada as Football/Baseball is to the US.

I as Im sure many of you are very very surprised by the start that the Colorado Avalanche. After last years meltdown due to injury of key components and questionable netminders, I thought the Avalanche were a shoe-in for bottom-feeder status. I thought this was especially evident when they picked up Anderson from Florida, I viewed it as more of a side-grade then a solution. In my opinion someone like Khabibulin would have been my ideal choice if i was in that position. Boy how I was wrong. They are one of the hottest teams coming out of the gate and they look good. That being said, I do not think that they will be able to keep the pace they are running at now.

Last but not least.... Go Canucks Go... Luu with the new franchise shutout record last night, 21 in 214 games, eclipsing Captain Kirks record of 20 in 516. He also moves into a tie with Evgeni Nabokov for 3rd among active goaltenders in shutouts with 48, 24th on the All-time list.

unfortunately i am living in australia at the moment and cannot watch any hockey games but every night i am on tsn checking the scores and cheering for my home town flames!

I am also cheering for San Jose this year as my old buddy Dany Heatley is now a shark! i hope he has a great year and that the flames dont have to play the sharks in the playoffs!

i would also like to congratulate toronto on their first win of the season! hahahah i hate toronto so its nice to see them with an 1-7-1 record, worst in team history! hehehe
