the term style holds no value on NS, as a contest looking for steeze has got pros posting videos of hucked ass doubles. sick none the less, KOS is not a big air show. last year it was a dub10 nose that won, but prior to that it was a cab7 dub tail. hopefully this year doesnt follow the american trend of anti-style and ballerina spins, and a stylie trick can actually win.
Alexander Aurdal should have won last year. His flat 540 Supermega tweaked bwarrowgrab was the most steezy flat 5 i have ever witnessed. to bad the judges did not rate that as high as it deserved.
Winterjam i think will be like all other city comps this year.
Dub corks and sw dubs. The winning trick will be Dub cork 12 with some double grab.
personally i dont like what happens to all city big air comps. A couple of years ago sw 1080 mutegrab was the winning trick and everyone did them. now the same thing has happend with the dub cork 10 and 12. Very hard trick but it gets lame when you have seen them a thousand times, it would be much better if skiers did smoother rotations with tweaked grabs than spin around superfast. that way judges could crown the real "KING OF STYLE" and not "KING OF SUPERSPINNNNN"
I hope the jugdes jugde style and just not difficulty. but still. winning trick = dub cork 12 as usual.
"I don't care what snobby Westerners think. Skiing is whatever you make it, and we try to make it fun. In the East, what else can you do? We ski rails. We build jumps. We'd ski pow every day if we could, but we can't." - Doug Bishop, president, Newschoolers.com
