Whats up with filmers in front of the camera?? Like the filmer in Refresh, why are you putting yourself in front of the camera? you really think that this adds to the film. No, thats why you are a filmer , and YOU FILM the athletes.
im talking about some fucking filmer putting himself in front of the camera to get some recognition . Your not a fucking pro skier , so get yours by makin a sick ski flick. not by filming yourself doing nothing.
depends on how it's done: freedle's work in front of the camera in refresh is fucking awesome, not to give it away, and in clownschool's gang the filmer does a dope-as-shit pan of himself to a jump shot. Then again i have seen some really annoying shots of filmers.
the guys behind the movie put sooo much of their time and effort into i think they deserve a shot or two so we can see who these talented people are. They might not be able to through a double cork 12 but they sure can produce one hell of a ski movie. These people deserve just as much respect as the riders they are filming. I don't see you being able to do ether.
If berman filmed his ass for 30 seconds and put it at the end of refresh i would watch it out of sheer respect for the rest of his work.
Thread creator. I disagree completely. I don't remember in refresh when this happens but the crew doesn't get enough credit for what they do. What I hate the most is the timelapses where the riders are building features. Everyone on the crew builds the features and usually the riders do the least work building for park shoots. When building bc booters, well I don't know the protocol for that but I assume everyone helps make it as well. Fuck, I have my 2 seconds of fame in the credits of edias and I'm stoked on it and I could care less if some kid isn't stoked on it. The clips in the credits are more about centimental value than stoking the kids.
Freedle did his self-filming up in AK for a good bonus feature in good spirits. When he got back, he showed up and showed it to some guys at the park shoots like Hornbeck, Wallisch, Henrik, and B-Dog who normally would just hit skip for an AK segment. They all really enjoyed the feel for the segment, so we moved forward and put it in the movie. Freedle didn't go out of his way to put himself in the movie, we all pushed for it.
What movie do you think has too many shots of filmers in it?
How would you like to be the one going off jumps with a $$$ HD camera in your hand.
The balance required is freaking crazy.
I forget which edit it was, but there was a shot (I'm sure there are plenty more) where the filmer did a zero spin essentially to get the shot. How the hell can you spot your landing and film at the same time?
Filmers put sooo much work into the movies, even if you dont like it, its something that should just be accepted. personally i dont mind seeing those guys in the movies cuz then i know what they look like and I can complement them if i ever see them in person
yeah man i totally agree
i also think you shouldn't see skiers faces either
you should just make them where helmet cams, all we want to see is their skis, not their tall tees and bandannas
and that would get rid of those annoying extremely talented filmmakers
i hope you face palmed as soon as you clicked submit
if your talking about what I think your talking about in refresh i have to say i thought it was sick.. that whole segment was incredible and seeing how stoked the filmer was to be there just added to it..
at least this thread was able to bring together most of the pro filmers!
