Jury duty

how much does everyone get paid per day for serving jury duty in your state ??? my friend from NY says she got 40$ for the day.  i just checked NJs website, im getting 5$ for 8:30 - 4:30 tommorow. and no i didnt misread 5$ per hour. its 5$ per day.  fuckin cant even buy lunch with that shit.

you can get out of it real easy just make some bs excuse to the judge why you couldn't be objective in the trial. come up with some stupid reason for being biased, ie religion, racism etc. haha.

Then again if you don't have shit to do may be interesting to even though your not getting paid.

If you gotta miss work then your employer has to pay you for it.  I think i got like $57 for the day doing it in colorado.  It was also fairly interesting to see how the legal system works.  I was hoping to get out of it but it was a DUI case where he refused to blow and they ended up keeping all 3 of the bartenders on the jury.  His ass was guilty as charged.
