There are a million of these threads out there, but i am looking to buy a pair of salomon thrusters 161. I'm 5'9'', 130lbs, want something very LIGHT, works for skiing glades (so smaller turning radius) and is pretty buttery. Is this the ski for me??
i would say go for a 171, i loved my older thrusters pretty soft and fun, if yourn gona ski trees your gona be a lot more comfortable on 171 even though they are larger, i went from 161 thrusters to 171 moments and i about your height, and its much better
seems that everyone that has skied them loves them.
They are soft in tips so easy to butter
Lightest core armada makes.
Normal to short turn radius that is a very forgiving turn radius.
Can handle that crud/powder/hardpacked snow condition...and can be skied in the park
do not get these skis. i ahev read tons of awful reviews about edge ripout. they may even be worse than suspects. idk you can go and get em from backcountry and if they fall to pieces they will refund you or give you a new pair cuz theyre legit but seriously it is still a paina and hassel to return/refund. go with something other than salomon. maybe look into the line masterminds or k2 ext/silencer.
hahaha oh thank you i almost flipped when i read that.
I am skiing east coast stuff, so my trees are very tightly packed. I will also be skiing a lot of park, and again, something light, easy to whip around, and can turn rather sharply
