Do I need to builed a drop in or can I just lay some turf down on top of my hill for a summer jib?

Depends on how high/long the hill is that you're talking about.. but yes you can I guess, but you need to build a jump though

imagine it snowed in your backyard, do you think it would be steep/long enough to setup a rail+kicker?
if so, you'll probably be ok on turf/fence as well....

id say its not quite as fast as snow, and deffinetly not as fast when it hardens up and gets icy if your an east coaster

if youre ok on that steepness/length when it snowed, you "can" do it on truf, obviously you'll need some pole pushing, but it'll work .
if it works very good on snow it'll work on turf as well
