i want to, not yet though. looks good, but i cant really see it being amazing, nothing Judd Apatow does is amazing.

I agree that Judd Apatow hasn't done anything absolutely amazing but he has made some damn funny movies. For example, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, Superbad, and 40 Year Old Virgin are my favorite Apatow movies. As for Funny People, I have yet to see it but it looks awesome. Possibly Oscar nomination worthy

It was a different style than Apatow's other movies. Hard to explain, but really it was great.

Even with all the normal Apatow dirty jokes it was a more "mature" comedy.  If anyone knows what i mean.

if this apatow guy made all these movies i dont expect funny people to not be funny. it would be almost impossible. those movies he made weren't great but they were atleast humorous at best.

It was like, funny and depressing at the same time
fuck, it made adam sandler look like the biggest asshole though.

i hate seeing like an old sandler movie and then seeing this movie, its the same person, same humor, but at the same time, soooooooooo different

it wasnt that good. i was expecting an old adam sandler movie with seth rogan in it, but it was sorta funny and had a pretty good story.

did anyone else think it was unnecessarily long? 2.5 hours for a comedy is ridiculous. that being said, however, i thought it was really funny and worth my 8.50 at the theater.

i've been on the fence about seeing it. the first thing i thought when i saw the trailer is this is either going to be epicly funny or epicly shitty. I'm thinking that with a few of the funniest actors ever it may be hard for it to live up to the hype i've created. Does it?

it's definitely not epicly funny. but it is funny enough to be worth your while. if you go in expecting consistent laughs with a decent plot, you won't be disappointed. if you go in expecting to be pissing your pants and tearing ab muscles from laughing so hard, you most certainly will be.

in summary: LOL = yes, ROFL = no

Seems like every movie Apatow writes/directs is more mature than the last.  I really liked Funny People, but Knocked Up is still my favorite (barely)

Thought FP was great, although I had low expectation based upon every critic having sand in their vagina. Even with a near 2.5 hour running time, I thought the movie carried itself well. Sure, the first 2/3 was the best part but the last 1/3 wasn't all that bad either - just on a more serious kick. Tons of quotable material and will have to see it again.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I have a funny feeling that most people saying this isn't a very funny movie think movies like Step Brothers and The Hangover are genius comedic movies.

I'm also looking forward to all the cameos. Apparently RZA, Eminem, and a bunch others are in random scenes.

i saw it, and thought it was great. im not a fan of most of Apatow's movies, but this one had a different feel. it actually had a plot and the character development. all the characters were genuine, and hilarious. it didnt feel like improv, like most of his other movies. definitely reccomend this one.

i only found myself laughing outloud about 3 - 4 times.. but i was smiling the whole entire movie.. jsut a good movie altogether.. one you'll remember the whole thing, not just 2 / 3 quotes
