Problem Capturing Footage From HV30

I just got my HV30 and I went out to film with it and now I am trying to capture my video. I am using Sony Vegas 7.0 and when I hit the button to capture the footage, a box pops up and says "a failure occurred in Capture - Failed to start capture"


I don't know what do do and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check that firewire is plugged in.
Camera is in Play setting.
Try using HDV split it's what I use and works amazing. http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm

HDV split works very well for me.

nope, but that does not mean that all of the HV30s would be like that.

I'm not really sure what the problem is.
