I forgot, there's also one about the Vail arson called Powder Burn by Daniel Glick. Talks about the ELF's protests and then action against the Cat III expansion (now Blue Sky Basin).
And I'm sure your local library can help you. When I was doing a paper on ski resort development, they not only helped me find books about local ski resorts, they were also able to do an ILL (Inter-Library Loan) so that I could check out books from other libraries from around the world for free. You can just give them the ISBN, they'll look it up and if it's available, they'll ship the book to your local library as quickly as they can and then it's pretty much subject to the same checkout rules as your local library.
sorry for the double post.
america, fuck yeah.
(on May 14): Schweitzer closed with 140 inches of snow at the summit. They got 5 new inches May 13th for a summit depth of 134". Remind me why they closed again?
I have a pretty large ski/mountaineering library though so if you kind of let me know what you are looking for I can probably make a better recommendation. In terms of quality of writing and interest though these are my favorites.
