SUBURB
Thrown-up glyph
of moon, your smile
is savagely
exact.
What I take to be
the stuffing from
a toy
animal isn't.
here's what i came up with after the first read. it's a bit knee jerk, but if you clean it up and sell it well you may be able to use it.
the poet is having a one sided "conversation" with the sky.
the moon is visable, but it is a sliver, looking like a wry smile.
the stuffing is the clouds.
the poet is looking at the sky, seeing the shapes of the clouds, or more precisely using the ambiguous shapes of the clouds to give visual representation to thoughts and perceptions in his mind about his world on some level.
the savage, thin smile of the moon expresses both his delight at seeing the clouds manifesting internal emotions/conflict/thoughts/whatever, and also the fact that it is a secret between him and the sky
^
idk about the title, maybe it is for the imagery of a solitary man surrounded by surbaban sprawl looking to the sky for answers and finding them, along with a moment in time where he feels solitary in the world sharing a secret with the sky, in the midst of chaos.
