A couple years ago my dad and I went out to Beaver Creek. Our first day there we decided to head up for a few runs before they closed the lifts. Halfway up the lift it became a total white out. We couldn't see anything at all. We tried to ski back down to the house where we were staying but we got lost because we couldn't see five feet in front of us (and neither of us had been there before). It took us like an hour plus to get down and by that time the lifts were closed, so we had to hike back up to get back to the house. It sucked.
Skiing and hearing avalanches let loose is scary shit for sure it sounds like everything around you is sliding even if it's DOT blasting miles away.
Skiing in fog at night when there is no horizon line just bright spots and white. It made me want to lie down and think about what I was doing. I got super confused. seeing people ski away in white and having zero depth perception.
