skinning is WAY better than hiking, like way way way way way better
jj's skin fine, they're a bit heavy but you can easily make it up and they grab fine you just need to be good at cutting skins so you can get them all set. they're a great slackcountry ski, so perfect for skiing all day and then throwing your skins on to do a short skin to get some untracked stuff, but i wouldn't take these on a 2.5 hr+ tour
so basically get dukes if you think you have good chances to do short tours because hiking in pow sucks balls whereas skinning is really easy
