I bought a new pair of AR6's at the beginning of the season, had absolutely no problem, and minimal top sheet chipping. I am very impressed with the versatility, look, and durability of Armada. I would recommend a pair of Armadas to anyone that is considering. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents out there about a legit company with great skis.
yeah next year i might look in to getting some ar6 or thalls
ya i got some full tilts but they kept walking around on their own and they didnt play nicely with other boots, they ganged up on my cousins nordica's and it wasnt pretty. i had to lock them up when i went to work because they kept getting into the closet and humping a pair of women's technicas, i ended up having to have them put down they were just to badass...powdered_dougnuts on full tilts
im still rocking my first gen ar6s, 2 full seasons!
My name is Jake I went to the lake to get baked, your a fake, for heavens sake, go make, me a cake, oh shit! there is glen plake, and a snow flake, my broken ankels ache, EARTH QUAKE! i never got his hand shake, my cake is gone i want steak, what a mistake, my ankels aren't break, perhaps i can awake and partake in drinking a milkshake.
i only just broke my last gen ar5's (w/ the old madsteeze graphics) this winter. and they are not even that bunged up i could still ride em but the edges will probably pull out next year. solid skis for sure. i dont know how many seasons that is but i think 4
im getting those over the summer/next year. im not sure if i should get the 09/10 model...whats the difference between this years model and next years? and what binding would be better on this ski..Rossi FKS or marker griffon granted i ski 40% park and 60 % hardpacked and im only 110 pounds
"I don't care what snobby Westerners think. Skiing is whatever you make it, and we try to make it fun. In the East, what else can you do? We ski rails. We build jumps. We'd ski pow every day if we could, but we can't." - Doug Bishop, president, Newschoolers.com
bought this years ar6 in november
only have chips on the insides of both skis
no edge cracks
but my tips are kinda cracking down the middle of the topsheet but doesnt seem to effect them at all
real solid ski i recommend it to anyone for and all mtn park ski
Holy shit! I sent armada an email saying how much I liked the AR6 and I just got 5 pounds worth of swag sent to my house from them. Theres 2 hats, 4 ski vids, and a shitload (not exaggerating) of stickers. What a dope company.
I wish I had good luck with armada, my ARVs last about 2 months until I had split BOTH bases. There was litterally a crack a foot long on both bases. In the end they werer cool about it and sent me a new pair.
i had a pair of ant's and i skied the absolute fuck out of them. they held up awesome. i hit some rocks that ripped my ski off and sent me tumbling only to find that it had barely scratched the base. also, i took some falls that should have broken the ski in half and nothing happened. i can definitely say they are some of the most durable skis i've been on. armada is dope. i had a pair of 4frnt msp's that i skied the same way and i snapped two pairs and delaminated another all in one season.
"People always ask me, 'is it worth it, getting hurt that much?' and the answer is yes, I would do it all over again, have six more season ending injuries in the next 10 years to keep doing what we get to do, there's nothing better than sliding down snow and flying through the air"
--RIP Shane, you will be missed
They're great for everything. I've hit jumps from 5 feet up to 65 and they were perfect, plenty stable, and the race base makes it super easy to get/maintain speed. Good on rails too. Really can't go wrong with them.
Can someone please tell me about their warrenty? I bought this year AR6's this year and after one season there done. im missing about 4 inches of edge and the bases are starting to peel. I'm so surprised because my old AR6's were bombproof just like you guys said. these skis were not.
Wait you have the 08-09 Ar6's? Thats crazy, cause thats the model i have and
mine are completely bombproof. I guess its just the luck of buying a
good pair. I bought 07 line invaders and they fell apart on me, and I
ad a friend that bought some too and he can do anything with those
shits and there in perfect condition's. Lame though.
I emailed Tyson a couple of weeks ago. No reply. I phoned up the warranty number and they said that because I didn't buy them from an official Armada dealer they wouldn't warranty them (It's funny how I bought them from you). I don't know what to do.
Lolz, you did buy them from me. Maybe they were tainted from my bad luck with my previous pair. But seriously, find a good shop, bring them a case of the finest beer available, and have them fill out a warrenty slip for you.
