Waxing skis.

I was just wondering how to do it properly.
I mean i have a good idea of how too. I just don't want to like melt the layers and Delaminate my skis. If anyone could tell me how i'd appreciate it

when it comes to iron temperature, if the wax is smoking then it is too hot. If the wax isn't melting, the iron is too cold. Simple as that. Also, be sure to keep the iron moving AT ALL TIMES. Burnt base is not fast base. If all else fails, talk to a friend who ski races.

hey just go to the begging of the forums. like where you pick which forum to go to and at the bottom put in ski waxing for search and all different forums come up and KUU.com tells how to tune them perfectly

aight waxing skis is easy and awsome i do it all the tyme. get some wax that is going to fit the temp ur going to be riding(check ski reports) take ur scraper (make sure it sharpned) and scrape ur bases really good to get all old wax off. then clean ur bases with cleaner, and dry them GOOD, wait 20mins. do ur edges. then do ur hotwax, do small drips couple inches apt. all along ur bases. take ur iron and pretend ur ironing ur shirt, but only use up and down motions, get wax all along the bases- and dont go mad slow or u will fuck ur skis up (burn ur shirt). wait 10 mins and then scrape all the wax off. (trust) then take a brush or a buffer (depeends on what kinda base u got) and then buff that shit in. then invest in some ski straps and do that every week and u will love it.

if u dont have a scraper, dont worry, a simple credit card will do the trick. when u scrape...MAKE SURE TO GO IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY! this is a common mistake, that people scrape back and forth, but u should only go in one direction.

KUU canadian snowboard team wax rules. Dont scrape it just iron it on and cork it after its cool. Depending on the snow it'll last 2-3weeks.

^^nope, wax doesn't last that long in your ski, it ussually only lasts for a day or two depending on the snow conditions, if you ski on ice your probably going to notice ice burn after one day, if you ski pow your good for a couple days, it all depends on how seriose you want to be

waxing is definately not over rated. for one you can get way more speed to hit jumps and it helps a lot in the pipe. also it can make your skis last longer because your bases can get burned if they're too dry.

after the wax is spread out on your skis, move the iron slowly from the tip to the tail about 2 times or so. This helps distribute the wax and heats your base to let it absorb the most amount of wax possible. Do not go wicked slow, just a good, constant pace. If you hit a large clump of wax, and the iron stops, push it through the clump harder, DO NOT LIFT IT OFF THE SKI!!! I have seen bases melted and pulled up from the iron being stopped on them and pulled up. after thats all done, wait like 10 minutes, scrape (tip to tail), brush (tip to tail), then polish with a nice cloth. The spray on and rub on waxes arent really wax. they dont last as long and dont protect your bases as well.

just use ski juice if u dont feel like waxing...a silicon based liquid that makes u go like mach 10..but going mach 10 could be bad
