As i was going off a jump out of the corner of my eye i see this stupid mother fucker laying on the landing. I tryied avoiding him but it was to late. I hit him, lose both my skis and slide about 30 yards on my side. I must add that i have a broken arm and i landed on it wich hurt like a mother fucker, on top of that i got a shitload of snow up my pants and coat. As i slowly get up to retrive my skis this faggot says , "what the hell dude." I WAS SO PISSED. not only did this fucker mess me up but he tells me; what the hell. I punched that bitch in the face. And just my luck a ski patrol sees me punch the idiot. Well lets just say my day was over. Thanks a lot you fucking retard. Fuck gapers and ski patrol.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA easily the stupidest post I've EVER read on NS. I literally could go off for 30 minutes about how incredibly wrong this person is, but I won't. I'm sure anyone who read that would already know.

Annyyywaayyss, the person who said there's not enough info in the original post to start casting judgments was absolutely correct. IF the thread creator did just bomb into the jump line without watching for people hitting jumps and skiing away then he's most likely in the wrong. But NOTHING at a ski resort pisses me off like people laying in the landings or standing on the deck in front of the lip. It's one of the most dangerous things you can do and by chilling on a landing longer than a few seconds without being seriously injured you're asking to get hit.

On to punching people in the face, not so good. Unless you get hit first you're asking to go to jail, once you hit age 18 people don't give a shit if someone said "what the hell?" to you, you're going to court. Though I won't lie and say I wouldn't have been really upset in the same situation.

Thanks for the entertaining read, there's a lot of ignorance floating around this thread and it's hilarious.

I'm not sure if you are saying the OP is wrong or the person you quoted but, if it was the quoted person you are mistaken. One that post was pretty humorous. Two, he is right. He assaulted a person, completely unprovoked. Albeit it wasn't that violent of an assault but you never know who exactly you are punching. Perfect example would be my friends older brother is a detective. He was at a bar with his girlfriend and some drunkerd punch him in the face. I forget the reason but it was over some trivial argument like this. Long story short the drunkerd got fucked by the long dick on the law and now has a felony charge. Try finding a decent job with that on your record.

1. you fall, you get the fuck out of the way
2. you can't get the fuck out of the way, you yell to avoid being hit and for someone to help you
3. you sit in a landing not doing shit except waiting to get hit, and somebody hit's you, you do not ask them "what the hell", because you know exactly what the hell just happened and you know it was your own fucking fault

everyone should know this. it saddens me to see that so many of the people in this thread think their safety should be left in the hands of everyone else.

Rule 1:

 He was in as much control as he could possibly be on a jump, its apparent that the gaper laying in the landing was the one who took a jump beyond his skill level and ended up sprawled out in the landing. Had he been an experienced skier and fell, even if he had been completely dominated instincts would kick in and he would move out of the way, if not he would be screaming his ass off in pain, and nobody would be hitting that jump.

Rule 2:

Theres a reason why if you go to a mountain that requires a park pass they drill into your head that if you fall you need to get out of the way. This rule doesnt really apply to the terrain park. The OP obviously couldnt see the downed skier and how exactly the hell was he going to avoid him in the air? Flap his arms really fast and hope he flies past the gaper? Genius.

Rule 5:
I guess this proves you didnt actually read the thread, it says the ski patroller saw him and jerked his ticket so its pretty apparent that he didnt flee from the scene.

Rule 9:

This is one of the funniest threads I've seen on NS in quite a while. I have a couple points to make for all the ignorant haters.

1) It's his damn choice to ski with a broken arm. Props to him for loving skiing enough to actually risk re-injury to get his shred on. I feel you. Down time sucks.

2) Keyjibbs, Deepdays, factory81 etc. If you aren't all the same person you all have narrow minded opinions and, I'm sorry, seem like the retards in this thread. To assume only make an ass of u and me, but in this case mostly you. How can you assume that the "fallen skier" was fallen, not just some gaper who was chilling there? Hilarious.

3) He said he didn't notice the guy chilling until he was going off the jump. Too late to avoid him. The gaper probably didn't know what was going on at all, hence "what the hell".

4) None of us were there except the thread creator (unless one of you haters was the guy who got hit and is too much of a pussy to admit to it), so we should leave it at what it is: a damn funny and entertaining story. We don't even know if it happened, so lets have a laugh about it. I'm laughing about the comments in this thread too.

Most interesting thread I've seen on NS today for sure...

you have got to be fucking kidding me. everything up to you "punching the bitch in the face" is alrgiht. But instead, you should have been humble, and even though he said what the hell, you should have apologized and asked him if he was alright. And oh no, you got in trouble by ski patrol! well, next time do not make the deciison to punch a kid, and that wont happen. Get rid of the attitude that everything is everyone else's fault, becuase a gaper didnt ruin your day. you did.

Check Rule number 3 which was do not stop where you cannot be seen. If he was not hurt he should've moved out of the way or had someone else telling people that there is a skier in the landing. This is why you never ski alone. This is also why we need park passes. And he punchced him because the kid who he hit probably said what the fuck like it was the OPs fault he hit him when it is actually the kid in the landings fault he got hit. If he came off to me like that I cannot say I would've reacted differently.

this dude speaks the truth +++k hommie. i fell on old snow cat jib and its way tall so noone at the top could see me. one of my skis is laying sideways across the whold landing, so as fast i can i yell and hold up my other ski as high as i can so ppl can see it sticking up and dont hit the jump and die too. when i got both skis on and went down the hill i gave the dudes at the top a thumbs up cause the ones who did see me slam could tell it was pretty gnarly. then dudes kept hittin it and the day goes on. now why does common sense like that just not apply to this gaper? why could he not do the same thing that i did? he wasn't injured or anything, he just didn't move.

that a boy. this happened tome last year, there were 2 kids just laying on the ground and I hit the jump before I saw them, bailed, and smashed my face into the ground. Bloody nose, and broken goggles. I wish I had punched them, or better yet, punch them and steal their money.

if your lapping through the park all day, do you have somebody check the landing every time you hit a jump?
cause i personally don't. I probably should, but I don't and I don't think most people do.
If you're hurt, get the hell out of the way, if you lost stuff, hike up the side of the landing, and don't assume that people will check the landing.

as for the broken arm, that's not a big deal at all, I would have done the same. doctors in my town actually tend to have ski poles in their office for just that reason, to make sure the cast lets you hold a ski pole so you can still ski.

Im not saying i agree with him punching the guy in the face, but i also disagree with all of this.

and yes on the "big" jumps at my mountain whch are ironically mabye 30 feet, theres usually someone who either isnt gonna hit it and volunteers to spot, or someone from parkcrew who is spotting.

but my park crew is two stoners who are never around

and a problem a lot of times is jump lines that curve
x games park is an excellent example
i was skiing it two weeks ago, and dropping from the top you can barely see the cannon box, let alone any jumps after that
and admittedly there are often people around the jumps holding up x's if its not clear, but nonetheless everyone pretty much just gives er from the top through the whole line assuming its clear

we also dont have a jump line haha, just the one, then a bunch of shitty rails/boxxes, then another jump so theres no real way to miss soneone falling

Some gaper sat in the landing (didn't fall) when my brother was trying to hit the jump, my brother cussed him out, then the kid cried.  in that case it is the other guy's fault...

if the guy fell and was actively attempting to get out of the landing, totally your fault and i would probably murk you...

you probably overreacted...  but it sucks nonetheless.

my snowboarder friend was hitting a jump and these 2 idiots were sitting on the landing smoking....
as soon as my friend landed he tried to jump outta the way and ended up cutting the guy's legs pretty bad with blood gushing everywhere and later the guy tried to blame it on my friend but no one took his side even his friend who was smoking with him said they were being stupid and it was their fault

you are such a little biddy.  What did you expect him to do, he obviously didn't see the kid go off the jump.  it sounds like when he arrived at the inrun, as far as he could tell, the jump was clear.  was he suppose to skip the jump just to ski down and make sure it is clear, only to come back the next run and be in the exact same spot?  basically what you are saying is if he arrives at the jump and didn't see the last person go, he should go check it out.  fuck that, sounds like the thread creator is not a little bitch, and still wants to get better even with a broken arm, and sent a jump that he thought was clear. 

My roommate skis with a healing broken wrist and a still broken wrist.  He loves to ski, and won't let something like his wrist stop him from doing that.  Plus it is just more motivation to stomp.

First of all, sucks that you landed on a guy. But this whole situation could have been resolved by you saying "sorry, didn't see you on the landing". If I had just crashed on a jump and someone came flying over it and hit me, I'd say "what the hell?" too.

AND

As terrain park management, if I would have seen you punch a kid after landing on him. I guarantee that not only were you done for the day, but your season pass would be gone. There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE to ever punch someone on the ski hill. That is stupid 16 year old mentality.

haha i just realized after reading the whole thread that this was for Mar. 1, not May 1. haha kinda funny that you popped him in the dome. but usually when i crash on the landing, i run my ass outa there because no one can see me or i took it way too deep and everyone knows i fell and can see me i'm so far down the hill. damn gapers on the landing
