Hey I bought a macbook this summer, its the 2.4ghz intel chip with 2 gig of ram. I think its the latest version of the macbook before the silver one came out. I was wondering if it could handle video editing and if so what programs would be the best to download to start up (I like free, torrents are preferable :) I used to use premiere pro on pc but ive just recently switched over... yeeee fuck vista! ... until windows 7
Oh and the thread wouldn't be complete without, of course..... +karma
what is the macbooks onboard GPU? that same intel 950 graphics accelerator on every bottom of the barrel laptop there is? If its not, it is an equivelent in the same class. the macbook is for gapers. the macbook pro is a real computer.
so umm, go take your macbook apart again.. or soemthing.. and uh... poke some shit...

if your looking for free programs, just use imovie. it actually works pretty decent once you figure out all the little tricks. if your planing on keeping all of the movies on your comp, i would recommend either getting an external hard drive, or buying, and installing a very large internal one yourself. I have the the same macbook as what you described, and one year from when i bought it the 60 gig hard drive went out. so i did some research, and bought a 300 gig one for about $100, and installed it all myself, it was actually pretty easy.
