ok the best shop in ALL of canada is glacier freeride shop in whistler, i cant stress to you how good this shop really is.

I'm going to have to be an asshole and tell all of you how badly Sporting Life sucks dick. They're horrible, think 'high end Sport Chek', not 'core ski shop'. Don't buy shit there, you won't get the pre/post sales support you want/deserve. I pity people that have their shit tuned or warrantied at Sporting Life.

Jib_this I have never had a problem with Sporting life after I've bought my gear. as long as ur not a dick to them, then they're not a dick to you. All the staff I have come in contact with are very outgoing and helpful. Notably, Andrew (TO), Matt (sherway), Hames (TO), Hank (cwood), Cam (TO/cwood), mike (TO's gm), kai (TO). and the other guys are great too I just forget their names. they're really helpful and my stuff gets tuned right, all the time. when I got my setup from them last year they were nice enuf to make small adjustments to the fitting of my boots on three ocaisions for free. that is going above and beyond

Sorry, that isnt exactly 'above and beyond' service, You should expect that kind of service from any shop when you buy a setup there, it doesnt make them a good shop, it makes them an acceptable shop.

above and beyond service is saying 'sorry, we're sold out, why don't you give me five minutes to call the local rep to see if he can get us some product ASAP for you and the rest of the people who want it' and then getting it because your shop is respected by the companies it deals with. Doesn't happen at the Life...

everyone has their own experience. I will tell u mine from last year.

Sporting Life contacted the Salomon rep (DS protecting his name so he dont get harassed) they set up a deal for me to ski last year that made it soo cheap everything was more than half price off. to top it off I never had to worry about tuning costs, boot adjustments, or any tech stuff at all. so for 600 and change I got a value of around 2000. helping me out went as far as the GM of the main TO shop. I consider that going above and beyond.

i don't know pocket-rckt. we have probably one of the biggest selection of fats out east. we have a shit load of twins from t-m,scratch,pe,pistols,gotamas and the cheap armada...add b3,kahuna explosives, and telemark twins, there is not many shops in the east that have that selection...

the idea of too fat for the east coast is being talked about in the magazine world. check out issues of Gravity Magazine that article could be in thefirst issue or future issues, so check out the mag, the topics like this one wil be in there
