TruE to the Movement??
I'm a little dissapointed to see everyone jumping on the riderowned/true to the movement/rider inspired bandwagon. companies are beginning to advertise their mission statements more than their product...look at the nomics article on Ns... smooth 5s and tight stickers don't ensure a dope or quality product. line's mission statement is 'truer to the movement' than any other, I also see more broke-ass line skis than any other. if you buy a product based on how well they treat their athletes or what their mission statement is, regardless of quality, to support the movement, you are not supporting any movement, rather you are making it possible for companies to be successful regardless of quality or style of their product, which does not force the movement into competition for the highest quality or sickest styles, but competition of empty words
and props to companies like 4FRNT, who can claim riderowner/rider inspired, and still boast about the quality, construction, and warranty of their skis
ya man, that was deep

yeah, and whats up with all these 'rider owned' 'core' t-shirt and hoodie companies?? they print a meaningless logo on a generic sweatshirt and claim how much steeze they have
i hear where your coming from and i totally respect what you say, but how well do you think skiing would end up if huge companies like salomon continued to dominate the ski world. well then we wouldn't have these small rider specific companies. though maybe their missions are kinda generic i back the idea of creating something specific to your sport for the love of your sport a great element not only for skiing but for any sport. as far as im concerned, there are a ton of new ski companies, some of which will not succeed, eventually the consumer i.e. us will weed out the ones that don't fit us - either in representation or quality. in a few years some of these.
just as in society, specialization is a sign of advancement, and thats whats happening in skiing right now. and i think its the right kinda of advancement.
Go Fishing. Go Ride.
I think it's great for our sport though.

i agree, diversification of companies is good, so long as the driving force of competition between these companies is based on the best product
My question is... Why do you need a mission statment? Actions speak louder than words.
i agree with a few things. i wouldn't support a company that just makes some fancy pictures and puts them on a shirt, hoody, and longsleeve and calls it 'furthering the movement' the whole point in rider owned companies is to allow for greater creativity and products better suited for skiing. so to start a company and just print shirts is kind of a waste, but hey everyone has to start somewhere i guess. as far as 'i've seen more broke ass line skis' thats because skis will always break, and when a good percentage of skis ridden are made by line then the only ski that can break is a line. if the same amount of people rode dynastars that rode lines you'd be complaining about big companies making broke ass skis.
^ agreed, i dont mean to make a crude generalization here, but alot of the truely core skiers i have seen/ ridden with did ride line, these kind of skiers push the limit each day, which in turn pushes the ski to the limit, what i see from salomon and atomic and volkl is SOME core riders riding them, but then again ALOT more gapers riding them, so basically what im trying to say is per capita it seems that line has many more insane/sick/core riders riding there skis, than the big names
rock out witcha cock out
Just because the company's mission statement doesn't brag about their product doesnt mean they dont produce quality stuff, quality should be a given. The next step after quality is image, is it appealing? so just becuase they dont talk about quality, doesnt mean it isnt there...
