OK time to find a proper name for this trick

lately urban progression has gotten unreasonable.

I just finished watching the field productions trailer, and something came to my attention

A few people have started hitting street rails switch, and even fewer have started hitting them switch the "hard" way or the "non-lip" way or "tails over first".

we need a proper name for this that we can all agree on. dont you think?

who has suggestions?

who already calls it something?

I usually call it a Switch Lip or just switch the hard way. But it is one of the funnest tricks out there.

your being silly then, you may as well use bmx terms cos skiing and snowboarding tricks are nowere near as similar as skiing and rollerblading, it make sense when the trick is almost identicle to something that you use that name, this is why snowboarding is fine to steal names from skateboarding. im sorry your wrong.

this trick is a fakie backside. the one where your tips go over first is a fakie front side.

yes skiers can do switch tricks they are just not what they get called. switch on a skate board-where the term was first used,  is when you do something the unatural way, when you do it backwards it is fakie, skiers should have known this snce day one, rollerbladers managed and we're gay aparantly. switch should be what unnatural has become.
i accept that it's too late now and people are always going to be confused when i name a trick. lets not fuck this one up though.
at least we're no in france, they call a switch up a sex change, that is stoopid if you ask me. imagin what a sex change would actually be if you converted it from skateboarding to skiing. that would be crazy.

Actually you're completely wrong.

You're talking about hardspin not backside.

Backside refers to facing away from whatever you're grinding on. Say there's a rail or a ledge to your right and you jump on and backside royale it your feet and body would be pointed left away from the object.

Hardspin is the term you want which refers to spinning the harder way to get on a grind(the direction with a longer rotation)

Also, you never say frontside or backside when talking about soul tricks (like an ao top soul), you also never say fakie before fullcab because fullcab is a fakie 360 into a grind so what you said was redundant. Plus there's only one direction to do a fullcab ao topsoul because the other direction would be a fullcab truspin topsoul.

Just so you know.....

p.s. stop trying to turn skiing into rollberblading, they have similarities but they aren't the same.

^^^^it's true about the grind names but i didn't see  any reason to point that out.
skiing should use rollerblading names though if it's gonna use any cos it pretty much is to rollerblading what snowboarding is to skateboarding.
i doubt you ever heard snowboarders saying they did twisters and helis, they saw the sense in not copying skiers so why should we copy them, it isn't right.

Interesting, I didn't realize that nose and tail presses were rollerblading tricks.

And I suppose butter 5s must have been invented by rollerbladers too.

butter 5s = are just med spin 5s or when you tap before you initiate the spin

shit its not exactly a direct comparison but shit is there if you look for it

or even cess slides are similar in a way

Well it's just how it is.

It'll take time but you'll eventually just absorb it all and it will be second nature

most of the weird names just came about because people didn't want to have to say a 4 word trick name

i'm totally down with the idea of calling it a hard on... and as mentioned earlier in the thread, can you imagine switch nollie? i guess popping off your tails coming in switch (not even sure if its possible to do), i'm sure there's some skateboard term for it but im not cool enough to know it.

hardspin is truespin, it gets used, it is real. front side ao topsoul or what ever you said does not exist, there is only one way to do a truespin and only one way to do and ao so there is no need for it. spinds out don't usually get a name for what direction they are, i don't know why or how to name them but if you spin or pin during a switch up then it could be normal or rewind.

i understand what you mean yeah, but it's just the same as true spin and normal so there is no need for the added confusion of it. i think if you spin right into a right footed 360 or more soul trick it is huricane and the other way is still true spin or that is when hardspin is more likely to get used.

you can do that too it would be just the same but starting in a grind. when the tricks are this tech, so are the names i can't even do them but my best friend can so i learn a lot from him, he's obsessed. i'm happy for him.

SKIS ARE FLAT WITH KICKS ON THE END aka NOSES AND TAILS YOU CAN POP OFF AND SLIDE ON.

rollerblades are short, have a groove in them, got plates hangin off the sides and are the size of your foot.

so why the hell would we use rollerblade trick names?

yay. i like this.  i think skiing needs more original names for tricks...like up here in steamboat, we have "unicorn"(front side sw up to inward 270 out)...kinda gay but it kinda stuck for some reason.

if skiers start getting the need for it so you'll have to learn something similler for that. then you head wll be sore ALL THE TIME. hahaa. Na, but it all makes sense if you understand what it means and why it's different skateboarding names and there for nececerry not to do it. in the cse of skiing it makes sense to use a lot of rollerbading names skateboarding ones still don't work.
