hmm.. yay, except drug tests... but i really don't mind if it was never in the spotlight, then it would be way more core.. but even if it does get huge, it would still remain core.. except for a few who are only in the spotlight and don't ski to ski, the majority would ski to ski and would kickass in big comps if the felt like it

Its never enough...following the great example the snowboarders have set, the olympics would easily be teh greatest freeski event ever. I am fully for it, with the right conditions.

NAY! FIS fucks around with everything. this year for alpine they changed the required ski lengths, which means i had to buy 3 pairs of new skis. which fucking blew, cuz now i dont have the money to buy some pocket rockets. FIS sucks.

the fis is holding a world cup tour this year and the us team as I know is men:tanner,pep,stefan thomas women :martina thomas also 4 ulta-matum riders have quailfied for the world cup tour they are Stefan thomas,martina thomas,corey vanular and Andrew Magiver congrats to these guys and check out www.ulta-matum next week as web site will be up then congrats again to all the boys and girl for making the canadian and us pipe teams

I personaly think that world cup and oylpic pipe comps is reall y gay fuck the fis they are gonna distroy the sport. guys like tanner are hypocrits they said for years fuck fis and first chance they get to make some more money they jump on the band wagon i think pipe at the olympics is fucked I think its going to put rules and regulations liek the rule on world cup for moguls that your not allowed to have any stickers on your skis, drug testing, and gay judging like the pipe for the snowboarders at the 2002 games danny should have won ross 2nd and jj should go jump of a cliff heki and that little jap dude killed him but no fis rules give better scores to big straight airs than big inovative spins. thats my 2 cents iu think history will repeat it self and all that work the old guys like mike d ect tried to tell us about the fis will not do anything its inevitable that it happens but I don't think it should thanks will

whats wrong with selling out for more money, prides nice but pride dont buy shit in this world, skiers will be livin better if they ride pipe in the olympics, and ill bet you that if the fis tryed to standardize everything it would last for one event, cause when the public sees people like chrichton boostin 20+ out of the pipe and gettin beaten by some guy he threw a small flawless 9 or some shit therell be hell to pay, and as for drug tests, if they just piss or blood test them there are ways around those

nay, judging sucks, if they held a demo much cooler, or if they had a rail or wall ride on the half pipe maybe , or if someone entered not to win but rather show the world style or progression then maybe, not just throw the largest air, i mean switch hits in the pipe, do you really think you will see that in the olympics/ they will probably base 75% of the judging on amplitude and form,

demos are much cooler, set up a course with some cool stuff and let anyone do what they want.

Can it work? Yes, it can. IF they get the judging down right, IF they let 'qualified' people judge, IF the best athletes in the world are stoked on it, IF IF IF...lots of IFs. Will it work? Debatable...very. I don't know. I know that whoever wins the first freeskiing event at the Olympics(because you better believe that what the FIS really wants is a slopestyle) will test positive for some kind of recreational drug, or will have had a couple of Red Bulls and will test positive for 'performance enhancing' drugs. It won't even matter, because the FIS will stop caring like they stopped caring with snowboarding after the big deal with Rebagliatti(remember him???!). Tanner will win, it'll be huge on NBC, and everyone will be happy because ratings will go up and the olympics will generate even more money. Because that's what the Olympics are really about...Generating Cash.

yay, but think about it this way; there are plenty of snowboarders in the olympics that get past the drug tests...

and I think they aren't considering marijuana an illegal substance for the olympics (not the law) cause it isn't exactly performance enhancing. watch robin Williams live thing

Yay, the bigger the competion the more press and exposer. this will bring in more skiers and in turn raise the standard for tricks and competion. This is what will help the sport progress to the next level and give it the kind of press that other extreme sports get like skateboarding and motocross.

i agree with cj, and also, i don't always want to see the top 15 athletes, there are SO many sick ams, look at skateboarding for example, the best comp of the year is the TAMPA AM! because people are fucking throwing tricks down for theirl ives! sometimes i find the ams sooo much sicker then the pros, look at strike 3 for example and forward, the parts in those movie can match ALMOST any part in a pbp movie, and as a whole the movie was probably better than any pbp movie, but you won't seee this in the olympics, its the ams that are progressing the sport, because for them to become pro they need to add something to the sport,

what im geting at is the olympics will feature the same athletes, make the same ones get richer and richer, and leave the ams out, and also doesn't feature the people who don't want to do comps

thats my opinion again,
