It depends on the demand. The one you saw go might have also had a ton of use on the heads, just no malfunctions yet...

214 hours ouch lol no wonder it was cheap. Probably hasn't had much work done on the heads. I bought a VX2000 with 200 hours on it but the heads were replaced with only 5 hours of use on them, and the receipt of the head replacement was included in the auction so I knew it was legit. Seriously dude try to find one with less head use

Yeah, I was wondering about that, but I saw one on here with 258 so I didn't say anything. I know that for the most part, 40 hours is the breakpoint between a lot and a little use...at least for GL2s...

hey,
i'm pretty sure i read this exact same post on DVXuser, which shows how lame life is when the snow's gone haha. HMC150 or wtvr is coming out in the fall. i wouldn't expect the drop in price on DVX cams to drop too suddenly, but you may save a few hundred bucks.
BTW if you can afford it i'd recommend trying to get a dvx100b. i know its not a super dramatic upgrade, but things like the 16:9lcd screen make it worth it.

my reccomendation is to never by used cameras that use tapes (as in they have heads). Its just pretty risky and you can easily see yourself replacing the heads.
I noticed a noticable drop in quality from the time i bought my V1U (its a sony 3 CMOS HD camera) and the time i sold it (only about a year later).
Try to find one new next year. They will be going for under 2 gs when the fall comes around and the 150 and 170 come out.

Word......I want to buy used to save money. IDk yet. I have aaaaalllllllllll summer to save up and make a decision. If they are going for under 2k new then I'll probably go that route.

300 hrs = no go. Straight up.
And with the one with 80 hrs, you're putting up a risk because 80 is a decent amount, but its a pretty decent price. When I look at cameras I try to go for under 50-60 hours, but only you can decide whether its worth it to you

Its still not "the same", you know? Its just a big hassle thats a pain to go through. I'm not really an expert on cameras yet, but those heads won't be as good as the originals. Talk to the MMCrew, they'll know what to do about it.
