So I have a question. Which currency is worth more to the dollar: Swiss Francs or the Euro? I need to buy skis, will it be cheaper in France or Switzerland? Thanks!

First of all, the Euro is worth more, and the Franc is worth less.
Secondly, that is not really how it works. Just because a particular currency is worth less/more, doesnt necessarily make a product in that particular place cheaper/more expensive.

Well, if I buy PE's in th Netherlands it will cost me 550 Euro. If I buy PE's in the USA it will cost me 550 dollar, quite a difference...

Yeah thats what I have learned... Im trying to figure out the whole system still. But just so I don't have to rack my brain (I know im stupid), how much in dollars would a 500 euro ski be? And how much in dollars would a 500 franc ski be?

A ski that's worth $500 in the U.S. might cost $1000 francs. Even with the exchange rate, that ski will be more expensive to buy in france because it's listed at a higher price. Some products just cost more in some countries than they do in others. Customs charges, shipping costs, and tons of other factors go into it, its not just about the exchange rate. To get the exchange rates, just google currency conversions.

go to www.xe.com 500 CHF (swiss francs) = 432.53 USD and 500 Euro is 717.93 USD. You have no idea what you are asking.

look up purchasing power parity.
based on that theory, they should essentially cost you the same after taking into account exchange rates - this is to avoid arbitrage and the creation of grey markets. (i.e buying skis from france and selling them in switzerland for a profit)
Either way i'd find somewhere with the cheapest shipping - thats where you will no-doubt save your money
