watching the blog, oscar is doing it as well and he rips a gs course too. i gotta say, this is a real breath of fresh air, but i find it really confusing. Jon says something like "there's a race in a couple of weeks" which sounds to me like he plans on entering. i was under the impression he would continue freeskiing then train racing on the side with a view to competing after his freeski comp carreer winds down. Now it sounds like the other way round, because no way can he compete effectively in both in the same season...
unless everyone has missed the point entirely and there are two jon olssons or that he isn't actually a human (like some kind of superior mutant species)...
im not calling you out or anything but i dont think many of you guys realize the difficulty in racing and how technical it is.
i think the opposite, that a good racer can become a good freestyler much easier. just look at how many racers went to freestyle. how many freestylers went to racing? racing also definitely provides a good foundation for skiing in general, everywhere, all over the mountain.
for all u talking about jon skiing it switch... wasnt pep talkin awhile back about mounting up some race skis backwards to ski switch nasty??? he could jus do tht haha and bomb the whole thing switch
