Nearly two years after Google strategically invested $1 Billion for 5% stake of AOL, Google Talk and AIM services will finally be integrated. Aside from streamlining chat services, the original agreement also included other elusive advertising initiatives like making AOL content more accessible to Google Web crawlers and showcasing AOL’s premium video service within Google Video.
Other services such as Meebo capitalized on the procrastination of Google and AOL, but the integration should boost growing support for Google Apps. With OpenSocial fever still spreading, expect other messaging clients to integrate into Google as well - without the need for a $1 Billion investment.
