alright so im really stumped. I cant decide where i want to go. I know it has to be near skiing and i want to go out west. i was thinking about boulder. but ive heard alot of mixed reviews. Are there any other good place's in co? maybe closer to summit county
not to be that guy, but its gonna happen. search bar will be said at least 10 times in this thread. but not much near summit co just cmc. utah is always dank, unr i think, could go to orgeon area. just search college and im sure ull be fine. and if u think not utah because mormons, do you wanna ski or party or. cuz u can party anywhere ya dig
boulder is cool and everything, but i dont really recommend it. i went there for a year and ended up having to transfer because it was way too much fun. i partied too much, drank too much, skiied too much, and smoked too much. if you can control yourself, it's a really cool place. that said, i go to school in the east now and there arent any decent mountains nearby. it sucks, but my actual life is a whole lot better because i transferred. my grades are actually really good now, and im looking to get a pretty good job for a resort company or a ski company after i graduate so that i can move back out west and ski the good stuff again.
basically, CO can be a 4 year ski vacation if you want it to be, but if you dont do well in class youll end up having to leave when youre done. im looking forward to the payoff of being able to move out there for the rest of my life because i made the decision to leave for a little while.
i recommend you go someplace near some DECENT mountains, but nothing that's going to keep you from getting your work done. in the meantime, think about some good jobs you can get in the mountains when youre done with school so that you can make the move out west permanently.
if you think you can survive in CU, though, then go ahead. it's a really strict school these days when it comes to drugs and drinking because theyre trying to shake their party image. be careful not to get caught doing anything stupid.
search, and research all the schools. i would suggest CMC, the classes are so tight. u can still ski 5+ days a week. boulder is cool and everything but its fucking expensive as hell and really isn't a good school. just really nice and fancy, in a nice town, and has tons of hot rich chicks that suck. and your classes will probably blow nuts. but if u can pay 40,000+ a year for not that good of education and wanna take generals for 3 years then boulders fine.
dude go to PSU its in the east but i hear its sick, 15 mnitues to loon and waterville and its not that expensive like 20,000 for college. Not out west but another option. thats where i want to go
WWU in bellingham, right next to mt baker... not nearly as much of a party school compared to other state schools in WA (ahem... wazzu). or go to DU, they got solid academics and are right in denver...
i go to westminster and the religious aspect isnt an issue at all. we party too. and yeah its a little more low key than colorado....but its not hard to find a party here. the U is close.
and you have tons of ski areas and backcountry to ride on.
fuck utah, you cant drink without a lisense. cu is amazing from what ive heard. its a really good school, escpecially engineering, and the party scene is amazing. i stayed the weekend there in my cousins dorm and it seemed like such a sick school. du is an amazing school that is also supposed to be alot of fun. if your grades are good you can look at whitman, and if you want the most amazing ski experience of your life go to unr and get a pass at squaw. squaw haters have never experienced the true squaw experience
/\ UBC is way expensive. I'd say go to westminster or U of U. I have a friend going to the U and he never has any trouble getting booze, parties, etc. and you have tons of great resorts nearby.
Hey, i say even check out southern california. i'm going to school in the oc; bear is only 2 hours away if that, mammoth is between 4-6 traffic pending. I just arranged my classes to have 3 day weekends. you always have the surf aspect, and you can work here, party here and play here. its always another option...
but also check out UBC University of British Columbia.
..my friend from northern cali goes there...
