inside sources tell me that it's in mammoth this year because freeze is fed up with vail and also freezxe has moved from boulder to so cal, so if my calculations are correct then i would have to say mammoth is the place, but i also asked sarah burke if this was truek, and she says they love vail, and they will never move.but it could be a conspieracy too.

skiing is so hot right now!!!

They definitely do love vail...because vail loves it. But mammoth is also a huge supporter of the freeski scene so it's possible.

i have to disagree with you about vail not supporting it, they made all those special rails and modified the jumps and the town supported it, there where live 5,000 people for the big air show

the course doesnt get finished in time, and registration is...not up to par...but mammoth would suck, cuz they dont have a good park already, so they would have to specially make a park...no good... and it wouldnt be nice weather like vail has everyday(cough cough) peace

Not knowing much of anything, but didn't Freeze move from CO down to the LA area where Transworld has there main office. From that alone I could see the move to Mammoth, but Vail has been there for what 6 years? Tough to break those ties.

Vail is money! Aspen is Money! thats why the X Games love Aspen and Freeze loves vail. Vail makes a shitload off of the contest and so does Freeze, also it is a good venue because of the 'tour' which is unofficial, but the path across the country that a lot of skiers take lands them in the Vail area for that time making it easier for the sponsors to send their riders.

Vail's problem is they half ass their park until US Open time, then the rush to get it built up, and then they tear the shit down to wussy shit after the contest.

THis year should be different, they are digging a trench so they can use less snow for the pipe, and they are piling up extra dirt so there is less snow needed for the jumps. That will save some $$$, and they can spend it on better construction and get the shit up and running earlier.

04 USFSO is gonna go off, just like it has in the past.

Somtimes I just like to sit back and allow all the ignorant people in this world easily ammuse me. Other times they just piss me off.

Whistler to mammoth, mammoth to breck, breck to vegas, vegas to aspen, aspen to vail and vail to whistler in the back of a pickup truck with a dislocated pelvis...march in mammoth would be dope, nice soft cut pipe, big soft landings, un like the ice box that vail was last year...i froze my asss off

i think mammoth should do it. even though it sounda like thats not gonna happen... but i think so much sicker shit would go down if mammoth layed down a sick setup for the open... they are way more dedicated to the park scene, so i think theyd take a comp as big as this and use it to their advantage... the whole level of the comp would step up so much i think... all bigger and more tech features, itd be insane...

fuck, seriously! OK, i know how bad the weather was for the pipe last year. Tanner didn't even bother competing and Mickael spent most of the day inside but fuckin a! stop crying you pussies!!! from what i saw, the day of the finals in slopestyle and the big air were clear skies. shit, and i would like to see Mammoth throw some of the parties Vail has for the open.

skiing is an outdoor sport and therefore people should know that it's Colorado during the winter and outdoors in the mountains....I wonder if it's gonna be cold. Plus, Tanner and them are lucky there hasn't been a true Colorado winter for at least 8 years. If it had been a true winter, then it would have been probably -15 degrees outside.

ok it JUST wasn't cold it was FREEZING and it was snowing and windy as fuck...sure as long as you never went inside it wasn't TOO bad but it was still fuckn cold and the pipe sucked all practice long and the course for slopestyle wasn't all the great...the 2 jumps were like 5 feet long and the transfer gap wasn't open until finals...

I think we all need to write a petiotion to the boys at freeze and tell them mammoth is way sicker a place to have next years open.1)Spring slush is way better than fukin ice. 2 mammoth is close to LA hotter hoes colorado girls are way uglierthan cali chicks.3)nice weather, fuk blizzards of how bout some warm spring sun (this means the chicks wear less clothing)4) mammoth is just way sicker than vail there is way sicker terrain to ride the park is the best in the world so many reasons why the open should be and permenantly be in mammoth.
