Im thinking about trying this next year over the Mega Mother Hucker jump. Anyone thats done it have any thoughts?

I used to do doublebacks and they actually arent that hard, i think i actually have a pic of one in my profile. anyway the hardest part is commiting, i have personally never done a double in the park its always been in the bc with a good pow day. i definetly wouldnt try one in the park for the first time...not such a good idea. make sure not to try and forse it, if you set the rotation back too soon(or have your weight back and on the tails of your skis) you will lose pop off the jump resulting in alot less air, although you will be spinning faster. just mnake sure to get a good pop and tuck your knnes in to your stomach and keep looking back.

I assume your gonna try the trick somewhere else first ause that might be a really big jump for your first try (i know u need a lot of air, but i'd think tryin it on a powder day first would be smart)

a: wow... under...front... baffled.
b: double backs bring only pain, my last one... i'm thinking ever was in the bc and i slightly underrotated so when i landed i flew forward and double ejected my face into my ski which resulted in a 4-5 inch gash above my eye and like 5 grand worth of ambulence/hospital/stiches etc time/money. so yeah, double backs suck, i see much more pain with them than success. but thats just me....

tips for a double backflip.

i suggest trying it off of the smallest jump possible. maybe a 2 foot kicker built in your backyard. i also suggest using the longest, heaviest skis you can find, they will throw your weight around, making the rotation much easier. anyways, throw your weight back a couple feet before you even get to the transition of the kicker. trust me, it helps big time.

my suggestion. dont try it. the danger to cool ratio is horrable. i tried one last year and landed on my head after one and a half rotations and now i have permanent back problems.
