Well, Im thinking of buying a new monitor but I wanna see what people have to say about different kinds. Now, my monitor is a nice, flat, (still big just the actual screen is flat) viewsonic 17'. Its a nice monitor and I don't really have any problems with it although it is starting to lose some redness once in a while. Hoewver, I wanna get a new monitor (stick this monitor I have now on my shittier computer that I now have a LAN setup with so I can actually make it useful)
I was thinking for my monitor I would want it to be nice and big, either 19' or 21'. I would definitly go 21' but is it true that there are things that dont work very well on them, for example, games that arent the right resolution so they dont fill the whole screen or websites (newschoolers.com for example) that wouldnt be looking good on a too high resolution. If anyone has a 21' monitor, what resolution do you have it on and do you change the resolution depending on what you are doing?
Third thing is I dont know if to get one of those flat panel LCD display monitors or to go with a conventional CRT bulky monitors. If I were to go with the CRT it would definitly be a flat screen cuz I just cant handle the round screens. Now, the CRTs are much much cheaper, so I want to know, what are the advantages to a LCD? I kow space and style I guess are two things, but that doesnt seem to be worth the price it would cost extra, is the quality really better? Are the LCDs like laptop screens where you cant see them from the sides? I need any and all info possible, also what are some brand/models you would reccommend? thank you.
