Deadbolt 816

I have some concerns about mounting the 816 on my skis. I'm an intermediate skier standing at 5"7' and weighing about 150 lbs. My concern is that the DIN on the skis is too high and could cause injury. I'm not worried about riding around at an 8 or 9 but I've heard that having the DIN set at its lowest all the time can damage the bindings. I need to know if I'm exposing myself and/or my equipment to unnecessary risk.

It sounds like the binding is a little too burly for you. I think you would have been fine with a 12 DIN binding, a 14 DIN would be pushing it.

I almost bought the 816s when getboards had them for $99, but instead I got the 614s and I'm 6'2" 230lbs. A lot of people really don't need high din bindings... fks 155s ftw!

yeah man.. 816 is wayyy too high for you.. especially if you're intermediate and 150lbs. I believe you should sell the 816's and go for some 412's.

the getboards sale. they ran out after i placed my order and asked if i wanted to go ahead with teh 816. i didnt think about it and said sure.

I see. Probably wasn't the best idea. In my opinion, you'd suffice with some bindings with DINs which go up to 12...
