Hey
I am looking for a new pair of skis for the up comming season. I don't want to shell out top dollar for a new pair and I want something that will last. I'm 5'11 170 pounds and ski about 50/50 park/ trails. We don't get huge amounts of pow so nothing too fat, unless it can handle the groomers. I'm not new to sking so I can handle a bigger ski, 175 ish depending on the ski.
My first spot to look was Sierrasnowboards.com because of the cheap skis. The ARV are out of the question because when I searched about them someone found out that they were the 04/05 model and I don't want to ride something that old. Right now I'm riding Atomic Stomps and the foam core has lost it's pop, but everything else is good on it. Then there are the T halls and the AR5 but I don't know a whole lot about them. If those aren't that great what do you suggest getting under my circumstances? Thanks for reading.

search ski equipment, keep an eye out
or just buy the t-halls, i just did, i doubt you will get new skis that run for 500 for 200 very often, and people won't know they are 2 years old because they have the new topsheet

you wont ski a pair of dope skis because they are "too old" thats rediculous. everyone loves those skis and they are an amazing park ski. but at 5'11" and 170 you might want to look a little longer, stiffer ski

175 would be short for you im like 5 9 and i rock 175s and they are a lil shorter then me
go with a 180-185 center mount, maybe the MSP's or any park ski you want

oh and who cares if they're from 04/05 the only major difference is the top sheet and this coming years arv are a little bit stiffer but that's the only difference if you can get a dope ski from a few years back for cheap then get them who cares if it's the old graphic

Thanks for the fast replies. I'm not hooked on armada it's just there aren't any other good $199 skis on there from what I can see, a few line skis but I don't know too much about them. Also my reasoning for not getting an old ski is because the durability might not be as good as a newer ski.
So between the t halls, arv and ar5's what would be the best choice. Also does anyone know how Salomon 1080 Foils are?

salomons have a foam core which is shit, i'd go with the arv, or look into line chronics ive got 75 days on mine and they're till in really good shape, plus they went to sandwich construction on that ski this year, so chronic or chronic blend if you want stiffer or arv if you want a softer ski
