my grandma died in front of me

so i get this call at 2 am,my aunt says my grandma only has a couple of hours left and tolf me to contact my dad and tell him to leave as soon as possible,he was in ottawa moving my brother down and its 10 hours away,so me and my gf and my cousin get in his vehicle and go to the town where my grandma is,its an hour away and we did it in 30 minutes,we got there and its something ill never forget,my grandma barely holding on to her life,family all around her while she gasps for her life,4:30 am comes around and she died right in front of us,she was trying to hold on to see my dad but it was just too late,ill never be able to forget this day never, fucken cancer

yes i know she isnt suffering anymore,its just i still got the picture of her just gasping for air,i went to see her on wednesday and she was feeling really good,then all of a sudden she cant move at all,she had lost close to 70 lbs too,

yea, dealing with a grandmothers death is hard stuff latty, especially when it happened so close to you. Keep an open viewpoint on it all, and just follow your instincts. My condolences

Yeah cancer is a rough thing. My best friend has breast cancer and she's 18. Its not fair sometimes with all the pain people have to go through with cancer. I'm sorry for your loose.

my father had been battling brain cancer for a year up until june 2 of this year and passed away from it. i was there when he died. the last few days were the worst of my life. he started to become paralyzed and then the last day he was completely out of it, just breathing. it was the most horrible thing i ever saw. cancer is the gayest thing in the world, i hate it more than anything.

My grandma is in the hospital again. She's been in there 2 times for breast cancer, once for diabetes, once for a broken hip, and now she's in there because she fell the other day.

We had to move her from her place in a trailer court to a place where she has a little apartment with other seniors where they have people to talk to and there's easier access for emergencies or something.

But her diabetes is kinda scaring my family, because my grandpa on my mom's side has it too and that means that one of the people in our family could have it... and knowing my luck it's probably me.

sorry to hear that, many people in my family have had cancer including my mom, but thankfully she recovered.

I feel for you, I never met 1 grandpa, and then two of my other grandparents died within 1 month of eachother. It sucks

So Sorry dude, if it helps at all, my grandma just died last week to although it wasnt in front of me, my mum was holding her hand, and she just stopped breathing and her head fell back, i couldn't handle it ah, i had the biggest cry at the funeral, pallbearing sucks too, but dude i feel really bad for you and know what your about to go through, give your Dad (was it his mother?) a big hug, my mum still needs them all the time.
yeah peace out, and yeah kidney failure sucks.

the problem is usually the cancer is discovered too late. a lot of times the chemotherapy works but then the cancer comes back also. the most common way of dying in the us today is from cancer. since i've been alive both of my grandfathers have died from cancer, both grandmothers have had breast cancer but sucessfully beat it, my aunt beat breast cancer, my brother beat hodgkins (a form of cancer) twice, and numerous old great aunts & great uncles have passed away from it. good luck in dealing with the situation...i know personally its not an easy thing.

my grandpa (her husband) had esophagus cancer 2 years ago,he went through a 9 hour operation and put in a plastic esophagus and he beat it,

the younger you are, the better shape your in and the type of abuse you have put your body through are what help you beat cancer. its hard to take shit like chemo and radiaiton when you are real old. cells don't grow as fast, and bones don't heal quickly. sorry to hear about your grandmother, that really sucks. death is inevitable, it gets everyone at sometime or another. You seriously just have to remember the good times you've spent, how lucky you are to have spent them with her, and hope she feels she had a great life. Shes gotta be super happy now, all cancer is, is pain. shes lucky she doesn't have to put up with that shit anymore. anyways my condolences. peace
