Who was the first skier to ever grind a rail, box, anything like that.
i'm pretty sure a boarder grinded before skiers did but i wonder who the first skier to grind was.

The first guy I know personally that was grinding rails was Ted Tempany who also had the cover of skiing magazing when he was 16.
Raining from Edmonton Alberta Ted moved to Whistler when he was 18 and he was the Bar Tendar at the Boot Pub for 11 years in Whistler.
He now lives in Squamish.
I'm not saying that Ted is the first guy as you will never be able to track this person, but Ted was grinding rails in 1990 with his K2 comps which are white in colour and he had a few pairs that he used that are still in my back yard. with huge rail damage under foot. Ted also used to grind rails on 218cm DH boards and this is not a lie as he has given these skis to me and yes they are damaged under foot.
