Getting new skis/feeling different
when you get new skis(i havnt in a while and cant relate to anything becuz i started park with my pair right now) does it change your style/ trick capabilities in the park and all mtn? like, will it be harder for me to cope with doing tricks on new sticks? right now, i have 04-05 public enemies and am looking into 06-07 volkl karmas or line chronic blends. how does the pe relate/compare to the karmas and blends, as in all aspects even edges on rails. and are there any other skis i should look into?(70% park 30%all mountain) thanks a bunch
dude after like the first trip, youll be fine.
will i? im just kinda scared that all the shit i worked at this year is gunna get fucked up with new skis
yeah i went from a stiff 149 to a soft 161 this year, took me around 1 day at the mountain and i was perfectly fine.
you will gte used to it'

PEs and karmas are pretty much the same ski. both pretty stiff and almost the same dimensions. you could also look into an arv

I went from urban triplets (stiff and light) to TNK's with 916's (soft and heavy) after 2 days of skiing I was back to normal. It wont change your style.
i went from PE's to AR6's. took almost no time (less than a day) to get used to them. the only thing i had a little trouble with was skiing switch without catching an edge but that was fixed in a few runs at most

oh, alright good. are the karmas really that similar to the PES?
i got brand new thrusters right after the season and skied them for the first time at windells. it was kindda weird cause theyre a lot different than foils.
peace to all those down with this BEND shit.
i dont think tnk's are all that heavy, i mean they are heavier than stl's but not by much.
and i skiied soooooo much better once i got off my pe's and on tnk's

well any ski you get will be more poppy than PEs, which are extremely damp, though i can only see that helping you.

im sorry, i dont understand what you mean. i thought my pes were pretty good the time i skiied them, yeah they were heavy but i thought they were kinda of poppy...
bump for pe and karma owners
like everyone said it will just take a little while to get used to it. maybe a day, maybe one run. usually when i buy new skis my skiing improves. too bad i can't buy new skis every year.
just make sure you get a jib tune. personally I love new skis, especially if you go from like soft to stiff flex. I don't think I ever had to "get used to" a pair of skis, you just discover more or different things that you can do with them.
shit don't concern you son
what do u mean jib tune? thats probably a noob question but whatev
i think he means like detuned edges and stuff...but i am not positive so i guess i am a noob as well...
ya new skis on rails will pwn your face.

This season like a week ago i went from crappy hire carve skis to Big Troubles. took me half a run to get used to them and im neva goin back to a carve ski. Although i wudnt recomend big troubles as a park ski...heavy. buyin first skis in december.. 07/08 AR6's :D :D :D
I went from a 158 to a 176, and it only took me about a day or two to get used to them.
If you have an semi-circle for an FKS heel I can have, please PM me!
your fine dude. i went from riding stiff ass scratch bc's to super softy lizzies, and it took me about a run or two the first time to adjust. just jib around and get used to the flex and carve around to get used to how they just ride. honestly not a big deal
