Bowling for Columbine was not bad, but it was not great. What did it solve? Nothing, he didn't give people answers he just did what everyone else does, pointed out what the other side did wrong and getting in their face about it.

What the fuck does that solve? Nothing. So, maybe, in a sense this post is a bit hypocritical, but it needed to be said.

Is a documentary supposed to solve something??? It was a social satire... He pointed out an aspect of society that he felt was rediculous. And which I agree with him on. I thought him going into the bank and applying for the checking account for the free gun was downright hilarious. He's just showing how a large number of americans are fascinated by weapons. And a society that accepted violence as a social norm. But what is so ironic, is that how society reacts when something like Columbine happened.

The point of a documentary is not to "solve" anything... it is simply to open up the minds of the viewer in an effort to change something.

I'm pretty sure the only point of BFC was to get people arguing about an issue. And in that aim, it was a success. I thought it was great for what it was, if not particularly rife with integrity.

Then what he made was not a documentary because it brought nothing but more controversy. I don't care what he "pointed out" about our country, or what he made people "aware of", he did not do it in a civilized manner.

He was in your face about things, and was in the face of the people he was against. That's not going to bring around answers.

But in the sense that his film covered the essentials of a documentary, remaining factual, then this film would be one to give him praise for. I would still argue that his film did more bad then good.

Plus he is fat, he should do a documentary about McDonalds. haha

I thought alot of the shit is funny about how ironic things are and just downright absurdity of some of the redneck people.

He did do a movie about Mcdonalds and how it makes people fat, I cant remember the name of it cause I havent seen it.

who cares if hes fat, you dont have to be a slim ultra fit person to produce a badass movie.

Haha... thats his style. He opperates in your face. And a civilized manner? haha what in the hell is that supposed to mean. He's allowed to point of things how ever the fuck he wants... it's called the first ammendment. If it was cut and dry, it would be boring. It's a film, it's not a 10th grade health class report. He makes fun of them, because he thinks they are idiots that feel powerful because they have guns.

He's making fun of society... it doesn't have to be (what ever the hell you mean by) civilized haha.

So far from what people have said is that... he's fat and ugly... Dick Chaney is fat too. so nah nah nah nah poo poo.
in reallity he's just flat out annoying to neo-cons. And I find it absolutely hilarious. He's basically like the wart that the doctor just can't remove. I'll admit that F911 was over the top and rather brash. But this country needs someone like him to stand up and challenege this system.

To be completely honost I can't stand neo-conservatives. I think that they are close-minded biggots that really have only their own best interests at heart, and not the betterment of the country. Michael Moore represents everything they are not.

You need to watch some of his other documentaries too. Roger and Me addresses the topic of business ethics. He completely makes asses out of the big wigs at General Motors. After they crippled the economy of Flint Michigan.

i agree. seeing Roger and Me made me angry actually.

and for all you people who hate him just cuz he is fat, try coming up with a good excuse for disliking him. i like him because nobody else does what he does and gets recognized for at (as far as i know). plus i believe that there is more corruption in government and big corporations that any of us can imagine and in his films he is just trying to show us.

Well the one thing I will give him props for is the fact that he donated $12,000 to the owner of Moorewatch.com (a popular anti-moore website) when his wife fell ill and the medical bills went over his head.

I might be wrong about Moore, and had I known this info earlier I prolly would have a different opinion on him.

However I think, and I use the word I because this is my opinion, that given his reputation and his influence in film, that he should use that to do good. Not just point out how flawed our country is.

What the hell does pointing out flaws, in the manner he does it, do for us? NOTHING. Now if he were to point them out and then add how he thinks we could change it that would be epic, but I have not seen him take that line of action.

I mean shit even Gore did it, and we all know Gore aint that smart.

To the one kid who keeps refuting everything I post about Moore, hope your not too offended, wasn't my intention to start an argument here. Just really irks me when people in a position like Moore do NOTHING but complain about the problems.

That shit doesn't solve anything. I just wish he would add in his films how we can bring about some change.
