Dumb ing ruined my summer

my throat and moulth started hurting so I went to the doctor like 5 days ago and he said i have mono... this is so ed up i am probably going to have to cancel my job at windells and 4 weeks of skiing at Hood unless I get better fast. I dont really feel tired like everyone says you get, i feel almost completly normal besides my ing throat which feels like someone made slits with a razor blade then stuck a jalopeno pepper down there. They havent even given me any pain killers so im reduced to popping like 10 IBprofen/advil everyday. Anyone whos had it, how long did it take you to recover? Besides resting and drinking mad liquids and taking vitamin C is there anything else thats good to do? cause i dont really want to rupture my spleen and die if I take a hard fall which is gona happen skiing park everyday

drink some hot tea, with a lot of lemon. and take shots of pure lemon, as well as fire ball whiskey. breath through your nose and avoid breathing through your mout.

Wow, I don't understand how it can hit some people so hard. I had it a year back during the ski season. I also got it from a stupid slut. It didn't affect me that badly though, I had a sore throat which bothered me and I felt really tired but it still didn't cause me to miss one day of skiing. The throat symptoms lasted about two weeks and the fatigue around a month. Apparently my spleen was swollen as well but it never really bothered me.

You don't have mono until a blood test confirms it.

All your symptoms are also consistent with really bad strep throat. When strep really hits hard, you can't do shit all. You can't eat, you can't move, and you can have fevers that spike super high. In fact, if strep is bad enough, you can't even take down fluids.

You need 2 things:

1- A throat culture to figure wtf is going on with your throat.
2- A blood test to either confirm or deny the Mono.

A sore throat is one of only many mono symptoms that can be caused by other issues. And there IS medication for it, but it's hard to get a hold of, still kind of experimental, and expensive.

ask for oxacillin. its a B-lactam that is similar to pennicillins 4 carbon/nitrogen ring structure. Has the same denaturing effect on the cell wall.

yep. alot of the times, strept comes along with mono. and the meds are easily attainable with a prescription from your doc.

take some roids. seriously, tell ur doc u need to get better asap and he might perscribe you some roids. my sis got them when she had mono
