my throat and moulth started hurting so I went to the doctor like 5 days ago and he said i have mono... this is so ed up i am probably going to have to cancel my job at windells and 4 weeks of skiing at Hood unless I get better fast. I dont really feel tired like everyone says you get, i feel almost completly normal besides my ing throat which feels like someone made slits with a razor blade then stuck a jalopeno pepper down there. They havent even given me any pain killers so im reduced to popping like 10 IBprofen/advil everyday. Anyone whos had it, how long did it take you to recover? Besides resting and drinking mad liquids and taking vitamin C is there anything else thats good to do? cause i dont really want to rupture my spleen and die if I take a hard fall which is gona happen skiing park everyday

ive never had mono...but i get sick eery year at least once to the point where i cough up blood becuase my throught is so raw...what ussually helps me is you know those peaches in a can....drink the thick jucie stuff they are in....it coats your through better then anything else...i know it sounds crazy...but it works...and its not expensive!

when i had mono i had the same thing, not tired just a badass sore throat, just sleep it off dude seriously you may not be tired but when you sleep your body recovers, and i got over it in like 5 days but then the doc put me on penicillan which im allergic to and fucked me over again

yea i just had the throat thing when i had mono, got over that shit in a 2 weeks too... never really took it easy or anything i just kept skiing and skating and blazing like normal

word dude ive been sleeping a lot even though im not tired and drinking tea/water/gaterade 24/7

and peach nector does help a lil. It sucks cause ganj definatly makes me feel better and helps pass the boredom but i have to keep bake it in food cause i think even a couple rips would make my throat completly fu cked. Plus smoke lowers the immune system even if i could force it down, im tryin to ASAP this

I know you're not going to like hearing this but... stop smoking until you feel better. It will help your throat, that's for sure. Doubtful it will actually stave off the mono though. Pop em' antibiotics.

shit man i had mono 2 summers ago. took like 2 months to heal, but i was being a bitch about it and doing shit when really i shoulda just stayed in a vegitative state. i was fucking tired all the time, sore fucking throat, etc. keep drinking water and tea.

if you arent leaving until the 24th youll be golden. try not to smoke. sleep alot. lounge around doing nothing. drink and eat all healthy food. i had mono, and i was back to myself in about 2.5-3 weeks. now i did get tired alot eaiser for another month. but owell. dont worry about your spleen. if its not a throbing pain, you arent in nearly that big of a risk of it rupturing when u fall.

a kid i knew had mono 2 summers ago. he just slept a ton and drank a lot of tea. he said that the tea helped his throat and he got better pretty fast. you will probably be better by the 25 but i would basically do nothing now until then. just sleepa eat and drink tea.
