Are water ramps bad for your skis
k i know there are some threads on this but none of them really tell you if water ramps screw up your skis ive heard taht theyre fine and ive heard that all the water makes them brittle and they break the next year? whats the truth?
snow is technically water so it can't do that much damage...
ya i wanna know this too im buildin a water ramp this summer

you probably shouldn't use brand new skis on the water ramps but it's not gonna he horrible for them. use a pair of older skis and you won't have to worry about it

Water ramps kill skis. First all the edges blow out on the tip and tail, then they start delaminating, and finally they snap. Just pick up an old pair of rental skis for $10, you'll be glad you did. If you want to go switch see if you can find some oldschool twintips for cheap.

if you dont load on the wax your bases get torn to shreds and they snap all the time.

you gotta wax em real good
"you say it's not the real world, though it seems so real to me"
Use an older pair you've already torn out the edges on rails for snow, that you don't plan on using again on snow,
Chances are you will snap them eventually depending on how many jumps you do in a day, and which kicker your hitting,
You have to wax the bottoms so you don't get kneedy burn, which will slow you down going off the ramps, also you won't want to use the bindings again after they've been in and out of the pool a couple hundred times, the spings will be shot.
I used to have to reninforce skis with a fiberglass topsheet,
use old skis you don't plan on using again on snow...
you'll probably snap them when you hit the water
- t'sall gravybread
yeah i probobly wouldent use new skis but I dont think enything would happen to them
it warps the shit out of your skiis, its just common sense to me. its also shitty for you boots.
check goodwill for skis and boots. and i'd say invest in some old model new bindings with a high din.
you just need to make sure to wax them a bunch or the bases will get all dry and burned. aand i wouldnt use your good boots
try and use some old ones but it shouldnt do much, and they shoulfnt flex out unless you use it 24/7
snow = pow = pow skiing = goodness
what does water do to your boots? say i only use them for like a couple days in the water.
dangg.. r u serious? i had no freakin idea... lol
life = skiing 4ever
mold, and will have a chance of reaking of Mexican ball sack.

dude your skis will get killed from the ramps...
either the material going down to the ramp, the water, rust, mold... bascially plan on the skis that you use will be your ramp skis and thast about it... they are done on the snow after that

i dont think so and i hope not because my skis were under water for 3 hours today.
This is true! Dont ruin your skis.
I remember saying something like: I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive. Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming: Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?
Dr. Gonzo: Did you say something?
Hm? Never mind. It's your turn to drive.
No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor bastard will see them soon enough.
wow never knew it was as bad as snapping............the boots and old skis are pretty obvious but i didn't think it would destror them
skiing is dopalicouslydanktasticalandballer
yes they will... your skis would last about 2 days
as already said.. dont use skis you are planning on usong the next year..
does anyone want to tell me how to build a h2o ramp-o? cause i gots me a lake cabbin and it sounds like a blast.
you can boil to tips of some older skis and turn them up to create twins.
oh and it helps if you land in H30 instead, it's easier on the skis
