What to do in hood in summer(not at camps)

i moved to portland from n.lake tahoe this winter.it was good timing considering tahoes horrible snow year.I want to know what are the best places to ride up at hood.I'll hike if there is anything worth it,but mostly I am curious about public parks(any open all summer?)

timberline is the only resort open in the summer. mt hood meadows is the overall best resort in the winter, with good parks and challenging terrain. skibowl has good steeps and night skiing, but bad parks. timberline has good parks, but no challenging terrain.
