The ridge was closed all day, so was high traverse.
I was the second person down out of sight when they opened it and got to participate in what was probably the biggest huck fest Bridger has ever seen off DRCS. Any skiing done in untracked snow was just a complete guess when it came to direction because you couldn't see shit. Today was probably in the top 5 days of skiing I've ever had, it's just too bad I lost a pole and had to ski with a stick half the day.

Yeah, i almosted ran right into a huge tree today, i saw i slight flash of the tree and the area i wanted to go, then it went away instantly in a cloud of cold smoke. So i stopped as soon as i could and came about a foot from going right into the prickly branches of a huge tree. My first run on last chance, i couldnt see most of the way down, and by the time i was at the bottom i was gasping for breath, and choking on snow. So epic, one of the best days of skiing ever.

One of my friends passed out in the snow because he couldn't breathe while he was skiing. My mouth still tastes like snow and my throat burns from being frozen every run. But it was soooooo worth it!

well i have had several of my top days skiing this week. tuesday at big sky was lots of fun and today was just uhh well epic (only word i can think of.) I only skied for about 3 hours but it was just insane. Going up tomorrow, hopefully everything will be open. just the other day i was saying how happy i would be with the season if we got one 20-30 inch day and sure enough 2 days after i say that, we got it. I wasnt going to ski today but one of my buddies called me at 8 and told me the news, so i was just running around like crazy gettin my shit together and then passing a shit ton of cars going up the road.

I don't think there's much of a chance of snow tonight, and yes, I do expect them to be open. If not, I can amuse myself jumping DRCS and trying to grab my pole in the landing.

were you the kid i heard offer a snickers bar if someone looked for your pole?
ya but north bowl was crazy when it opened, like a stampede. but the skiing was so good it was ridiculous.
on a funny note, on the very first turn today, my friends towpiece of his binding fell off. so he skied down on one ski and luckily a guy at the roundhouse let him rent some 90's style skis for the day. and my face still feels weird from being numb the entire day.

The ridge was insane today...especially all the people. The snow wasn't quite as deep, but now it's perfect for hucking so I got in some good airtime today. I think we might get one more day to enjoy it before it gets warm and shitty, so I would recommend getting out there because D Route and NW Passage will be open tomorrow.

somebody told me the ridge closed today because of so many injuries that the patrol was tending to, but i dont know if that is the case or not. Turns down the apron this morning = epic.

They closed it for a little bit, but then it was back open for ten minutes at the end of the day. I could see some injuries occuring today though, I almost hurt myself jumping the cliff on skier's left of Stupor Couloir right into the traverse 25 feet below. I got off easy with a binding enema though, and I still landed it.

nice, i think i saw you coming off of that drop if it was about noon or a little a later. I dropped a few little cliffs while making some nice turns through the area i believe is called the o's or something. north of stupor

Today was 50/50, I was there when a kid broke his hip and fermur, near the O's and dicks. One of three reasons the ridge closed. He caught a rock to the hip, flipped him onto his back and it buried him with his legs all mangled. I was above, ended up assisting for an hour, it sucked. I felt so bad for him, he was in major pain.
I did have another great run down gully and it was fun, the ridge was so packed, A chick stopped on the climb to hidden and people were like "Fuck You" it was sad.
Do not go to Bridger tomorrow, the snow is chopped, except D and that will be raped so hard. Bumps were forming on Apon at 3:00, that was a report and "skied" was widely accepted as the term for the apres booze.

^were you standing on the cliff band above where this happened? I think i probably saw you. I was down on the catwalk below, with the black gotamas. I was skiing with the guy, he was one of my friends good freinds and co-worker. sucks major. he was in rough shape. even with a morpheine drip he was still doing pretty bad. he got taken to ER in an ambumlance, obviously.
thanks for your help btw, cuz tons of people kept trying to come down through where everyone was, as they were trying to tend to the injury.

That was probably me and Jeremy then, since we're some of the only people dumb enough to hit something like that. He clipped his tails on the rock when he came down, and I hit the traverse. One of these days we'll find the happy medium.

Dudee thursday was so dope DRCS was like POSH. And you could crank the road on Bridger like 50 ft at the end of the day when they openned it. It was SICK.

I went today, but I just took one run on NW Passage and went north. There was some really weird wind loading going on, that's for sure. Still lots of good snow to be had!
