Isn't hard

i tried it tonight and i tore that ish up, so all those boarders saying that its soooo much harder then skiing can blow me. 

any one else agree?

Its hard in its own way. Whats crazy is that I can strap into my buddies snowboard with my regular shoes and pull a 180.

Define "rip". Hitting rails/jumps and going down blue squares doesn't constitute "ripping".

ive always said snowboarding is hard to learn but easier to get good at than skiing which is easy to learn but hard to get good at.

Everytime I've tried it I've missed my skis. As much fun as I've had on a snowboard, I'll always stick to skis.

no ones theories will ever win this argument, its different for eveyone. for one kid learning and getting good at skiing may be easier and for another snowboarding may be easier. and why do people think its better to do the harder sport?

I am definatley tired of fighting this shit. They are two different sports. Both techinical and difficult in their own ways. Snowboarding is easy for someone who is althletic to learn. I have been teaching snowboarding for seven years. People who think they can snowboard generally do it with no style or true form. They just head down the hill going from toe to heel. There is so much more to it than that. Ugh! Don't get me started...damn. Haha.

I tend to agree, especially if you have skied first.  I have yet to see a rider become proficient at skiing in as short as a time as a skier can become with riding.  And I am not talking about just sliding a board.   I was bored with skiing in the late 80's and tried snowboarding on a couple of closed trails at heavenly.  I didn't come back to skiing until my kids were born. Riding for me compared to skiing was effortless. it was a lot of fun to rip all day and not be tired.

I really don't think it's that "easy" to become good on a board. Meaning form to the nine. I would love to see you board and pick the shit outta you :P

Once you know how to ski or snowboard the other is easy. Its just a matter of understanding how edges act with the snow under you. I learned to board in liek 3 hours, was doing boxes before my snowboarding gf instructor could. She was pissed. I couldn't go veyr fats but i could do any run pretty much and small jumps, 1's and front side, back side boardslides.  Then i went skiing with a boarder for his first time skiing and he was flying down the hill by his first runn. Its just a matter of understanding snow and edges.

hahahaha   careful....  I was riding when you were still a twinkle in your dads eye.  the cool thing about it was that they taught back then to carve a board first, ride with fists and not be afraid to let the board "run".    I probably ride better than I ski.

i do both. boarding easier to learn. skiing easier to do tricks on. spinning of a jump or jib or anything on a snowboard and progressing once u get good is immensely harder than skiing, believe me. either way, they're both dope sports and ppl have thier own opinion. word.

learning stuff on a boards a little easier. once you learn to carve on the thing it gets easier than skiing.
