"The Republican National Committee announced today that the Republican Party is changing its emblem from an elephant to a condom. The committee chairman explained that the condom more clearly reflects the party's stance today, because a condom accepts inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of dicks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually getting fucked"
It seems to me like Vista is trying to be what Apple's OS X has been for years. With the switch to the use of Intel's CPUs in their computers and the ability to use Windows on a Mac, Microsoft is definitely feeling the pressure...although Mac still is the underdog.
Just wait for the new tech such as the iPhone and full screen video iPod to come out...if that won't switch you over, I'm not sure what will.
I've installed a pre-lease version of vista (RC2) about 2 months ago and ran it for awhile. It's pretty sick, but yeah it does require a fast computer if you want to get everything out of it. I'm waiting a while to make the switch from XP permanently because of bugs and stuff that still need to work themselves out. Plus, there are still a lot of devices that don't have Vista drivers and applications that wont run smoothly on Vista.
It's a great operating system, but I would wait a few months before completely switching over.
