WHY didnt they compete???

i know theres a few threads on USFSO pipe, but I feel the fact no big names competeted should be discussed upon!!! SO WHY DIDNT Dumont, Carlson, Thovex, Havieit, Schiller ect. compete? I can see why Olson took the day off? but the rest of em took nothing all weekend! Do you think they were more or less giving the comp to Tanner, or was there some sorta pro-skier circle jerk that day of the pipe comp and they all wanted to be homos!?!
Seriously, Dumont is top of the field, but hes not that good where he can just take the comp off! What happen to paying dues!?! Hall's comp career is coming to an end but hes still triple the skier those guys are!

besides the fact that x-games means a hell of a lot more & they weren't comfortable with the pipe. might as well rest up to go out there and go big in aspen.

they dont need to get sponsored - i know if i was a pro, i'd let the up and comers compete and give them a chance to shine...who really cares if they didnt compete - there was epic skiing to be had no matter which pros did or didnt compete. big deal...

the pipe is no excuse, im just saying if anyone should of taken the day off, it should of been Tanner! Someone who already payed his dues in the game. Tanner makes Dumont, Haviet, Carlson, Schiller ect. look like rookies no matter how sick they are! Why act too "Rockstar" when you have the X-games in a week. Now Tanner's twice as prepared going into X wit a gold under his belt! JEA T

oh and if an "up and comer" wanted to be a professional athlete shouldnt he have to compete w/ the best in the game, hence the US. Open. It didnt look like Jon gave any "up and comer" a chance in the slopstyle event!

people have been saying Tanner's comp career is coming to an end for years. And he just keeps winning.

injury possibly...and from what it sounds like not even close to ideal pipe conditions

Tanner said in his interview that the pipe was messed up and he stressed that all he could think about was NOT popping, just absorbing whatever lip (oververt) there was. if you were Simon Dumont, the X Games were less than a week away, and you were expected to go BIG in a crappy pipe, would you be excited about it?

the pipe was over vert and really small, i think dumont would have got broke off going fast into it. I think its sick that tanner was able to adapt to the shitty pipe so well. Props for sure

they should save their spots for the bigger comps like xgmaes because shiller was discovered in the open, but since all the pros placed this year, its hard to find a new up and comer competition skier....sucks in my opinion
