Have you ever though of how easy it is to die?

Our body is a wonder of nature, our brain can process millions of data in a matter of minutes and our immune systems can systematically fight off harmfull viruses and bacteria.
Yet with all of this complexity the human body can be defeated by the simplest of human actions. Have you ever gone through a day and realized how easy it would be for your body to make one wrong judgement thus leading to your death? In all of it's complexities we could easily overestimate our distance from the street or from a steep gulley and bam, that's it, no so complex now!
Or even when you're driving down the road, all it would take is a 15 degree turn of the wheel and bam, you could take many lives all at once from such a simple action, no amount of virus fighting or danger inhibiting proccess's can save you from that.
It's freaking weird, I don't know why I think of this crap sometimes!
Just thought i'd share

yeah evolution seems to have kind of screwed us over in that aspect. On that note it would be sweet to see a modern day human fight a caveman and see who would win

Ya it's not like im depressed about it or anything it's just I find it so fascinating that we are so complex yet little dumb actions or mistakes can end us so easily.

yeah, and that's probably why there's a crazy amount of suicides in the world.
but it is weird to think about. you spend so much time of your life doing crazy complex things to get ahead, but if you step into that cross walk 2 seconds early, or go that 1mph too fast in rain you can hydroplane and die.
it's almost too easy.

I actually think about how easy it is to die when driving alot, makes me wonder if our creator (for multi-religions sake) thought we would be capable of making things like cars, or other things 1,000,000 times our own size. I always think about how much stuff had to be done to make like a computer, and how 1,000 years ago the most advanced thing they had was a wooden cart.

ya u can die from standing up because our bodies are complicated just think about all the blood that shifts around from laying to standing and if just one part of our body malfunctioned then we could die.
i almost died like 5 times in my life

I saw something somewhere that we are like 2 billion years ahead of where were supossed to be, tech wise. Also how that is going to destoy the world faster.

.....
im retarded for not caring about death.....
i have beter things to do in my life time than worry about when its gonna end
8400 people die every single day JUST from aids...
why keep pity about a death that is only a small percentage of the other thousands of people that die everyday
yea it sucks if some one you love dies but you dont have to be sad for the rest of your life your just making your life worse and more un injoyable

jea, that's the reason we're so fragile now. brains over brawn. by being smarter, we can shoot metal projectiles at 2000 feet a second. That kicks the shit out of someone trying to hit me with a stick

yea i was thinking about the same concept for a few days about 4 months ago. But seriously its incredibly hard to keep your life good and being productive but in a split second you can change that. Whats easier: stealing or saving? thats just an example though.

i ALWAYS think about that when i'm in a controlled situation where i could make it like, a battlefield. Example, if im walking in the street a car comes to me, i often think "what makes me not go into that car?"
thats NS Thinkers material by the way

I think aboutthat kind of stuff all the time. Think of how many decisions you have made in your life. In at least one of them, if you had made a different decision, youd prolly be dead.

it is frigging crazy, i always get into these hypethitical(sp?) situations with my teacher and stuff and wwe watched this crazy video to prove that what we see isnt really real but if we put i mind to it we can change what we see, what we can and cannot do.

I think that it would be more like one a day. Like anyday you ski, just hit a tree, or anytime your in a city, jump in fromt of a bus. This is all in a non-depressed tone.

if you represent the strength and power of the worlds greatest super computer by that of a two story house, the potential power of our own brain would be represented by a building far bigger than a 100 story sky scraper. Infact, it would scrape the moon and be 10 city blocks square at the base. the number of patterns of though possible for our brain is greater than the number of atoms in our galaxy and its 200 billion stars. if you lined up all our brain cells they could reach the moon and back.

yeah i get what your saying, but the human body and technology is so advanced these days its much harder to die than recover! I cant imagine dying, it would suck. Such a painful process.

Speaking of death, I came near death the other day.
I wasnt paying attention to what I was doing cause for that one second of the day I made a moronic decision to walk across the street, and for some reason I thought I checked to make sure nothing was coming. But I guessed wrong! I stepped infront of a bus going like 50km/h. Right then as the bus started to pass me I realized what I had done. with the bus zipping by my eyes litterally 6 cms away from the side of the bus. Then I realised my foot was on the road and I quickly looked down to see that the tire was about to run over my foot (you know how they drive mm's from the curb). Then at that very momment some adrenaline type energy kicked in and I was able to yank my foot outta there faster than i've ever moved in my life, even though all my weight was leaning completely towards the bus. If I had just been a few seconds faster it woulda been disaster.

i dont mean to offend anybody here, but i believe way more on the science side of things than religion. What happens when we die? If our thinking is part of our biological processes, and we die ending all activity in our body, what happens? I dont believe in god or any of that but i just cant imagine not existing, not thinking and stuff. Even when im asleep im thinking and dreaming so its not the same. what the hell happens????
also i see pictures taken from space and hubble telescope pics and stuff, and i really wonder whats out there. Because if space goes on forever then how the fuck is that possible? but if its a loop or something, well why is it a loop anyway? whats outside the loop? earth is fucking huge, but its a spec in space and our sun is one of thousands of known stars. that shit blows my mind. Physics class does too. E=MC^2, if you know what that means it will blow your mind. M is the mass defect, meaning that the actual weight of a nucleus is actually slightly less than what it should be if you use the weights of protons and neutrons added together, and this extra mass is converted to massive amounts of energy. Nuclear fission and fusion uses this concept to make atomic bombs and hydrogen bombs and nuclear generators, using only 4kg (or somethign) of U-235 you can blow up entire cities, and atoms are soooo small. Damn it is craaaazy stuff. Einstein is my hero. Photoelectric effect wtf? Light is a form of EMR right? but it has momentum enough to collide with electrons? Why are electrons negative and protons positive? Why does antimatter get obliterated as soon as it is created? Holy shit this stuff is sooooo crazy!!!!

whats also amazing is how a tiny little problem in our body, like a cell reproducing itself uncontrollably, can lead to our death. essentially, its like our body is killing itself - suicide.
i need to blaze and think about this some more.

Yeah I just recently got so fukin sketched out about dying, like I'm practically paranoid now. I mean just one trip corssing a street or something could mean death, or a bump of a steering wheel, or something so dumb. I figure if I've lived through my clumsiest and most reckless time of life, being young, I think I'll do pretty well in loife though, just as long as I don't take a bad X pill or smoke some shitty weed, or take some poisonous shroom or something dumb like that. Basically drugs right now are the only way I can die. I'm just oo awesome to die!

i don't think karma, good or bad mikes it so a guy like a BAC of .12 can hit a tree at 123 miles an hour have his cars do a couple flips, take out a sign, have his car land upside on the middle of the road on fire and walk away. (somehow my brother did it)

good thing you do. some people arent so lucky. the people whose brains decide, "hey, if its so easy to decide to die like that, why dont i do it. okay, here i go. haha im dead!"
or the people who are schizos, or suicidally depressed. you brain can be a terrible weapon when it isnt working in your favour.

also in my history class, learning about fascism and nazism i have found myself believing in some of this stuff. Not really hating on jews or anything like that, but the basic elitest principles of most dictatorships and hitlers amazing charisma and stuff like that. Very impressive and interesting i think... millions of people mesmorized into doing whatever the nazis say, through indoctrination, propoganda, terror, etc. Just incredible stuff.

read about it. its a lot more fascinating in the books than it is in the classroom. calculus and complex algebra are fascinating in how physicists invent math as they go along to model and approximate problems they are trying to solve, but they are a bitch.
if you get the chance, read einsteins paper on general relativity, its free online somewhere, or read feynmans stuff. also, try the MIT lectures on quantum mechanics.
