Alright guys, I'm a senior in high school and I'm really excited about getting out of my house and moving far away from my family. I have about a 2.9 GPA and got a 1530/2400 on SATS. I found that western state is probably one of the schools i'd be interested in since i'm more focused on skiing than school. I don't want any of the "don't go to crested butte", i know you don't want your mountain filled w/ tourist etc, but hook me up, and i'll jump on the "crested butte sucks" band wagon. I applied recently and was wondering if they offer good out of state scholarships, because my family isn't willing to pay for all of it and would love to get a scholarship if possible. IF anyone has been to the college just let me know, i'd love to share some words and learn about the college. I look forward to shredding w/ some of you.
you can get a WUE if you go there and are from one of the western states. if you're sure you want to goto western state, there's things you can do so you get instate tuition by your second year. there are scholarships too that you can get, though it might be hard with your GPA, also check out some of the scholarships that aren't from the school, they're are site online that list those.
i go to westeern and it is a realy laied back school, plus there are a good amount of skiiers there. as far as scolarships go i think you have to have a 3.0 to get the first western award which is 1000 per semester. you can qualify for it after you arive though, thats what i did this semester. if you have any questions feel free to ask man, and if you want to come visit let me know, i got an extra bed.
