Well Michigan was the only one loss team that lost to a team ranked ahead of them. Florida was sloppy against Arkansas last night and hopefully Ohio State rolls over them so people realize that it should have been Michigan in a rematch. It's unfortunate when you're so dissapointed about the Rose Bowl.
well florida had better wins, though. i guess it depends on if you value more who a team beat or who it lost to. i'm fine with the match up, i mean you can't prove at all that michigan is indeed better than florida so give them a chance, they won the toughest conference, after all. this also gives the big ten a chance to prove itself more with two big games instead of one. whatever, though, until they put in a damn playoff someone's always going to feel shorted.
No contest, I go to Michigan State and pretty much hate Michigan and I STILL wanted to see Michigan win the national championship. They definitely got screwed, and Florida is going to see first hand that they don't deserve to be in that game.
I really dont understand why Michigan does not get a rematch with OSU. I thought the BCS was about having the TWO BEST teams in the nation play each other. It is painfully obvious that OSU and Michigan are the two best teams. let's think about it really quick, Florida lost to Auburn, and Michigan lost to OSU. Michigan's loss was to a far superior team. Michigan got fucked.
Florida did have a tougher schedule and I hate how michigan schedules so many bullshit MAC teams like Ball State and CMU. If we would have replaced ball state with a real non conference team I feel like we would be in the National Championship. I agree that a playoff system is needed.
I don't mind the teams. Before today I wanted to see the rematch of all rematches. But after watching the Florida vs. Arkansas game yesterday. I do believe that Florida deserved to be number 2. Not by the way they played that game but by the little graphic that was put up on the screen in the 2nd half sometime. It showed that Florida had more wins against tougher teams and the Michigan beat the weaker teams and then lost to Ohio State. It could have been a coin flip but for the first time in a long time I think that the BCS computer system was right. I am just glad that USC didn't win.

I didnt read any of the replies b/c Im lazy. But, Michigan lost to the number 1 team away by 3. Florida lost to Auburn who was like number 7 by 10. HOW DOES THAT MAKE THEM BETTER? and how is USC even reanked. They lost to 2 nonranked teams and should have lost to a third. They are in the top ten and in a BCS bowl so you cant say its because Michigan lost their last game because USC lost their last game to a NONRANKED TEAM! UCLA was in the bottom 5 in defense last year and held USC to 9 points. FUCK THE BSC I WILL NEVER WATCH COLLEGE FOOTBALL AGAIN!
Florida played Central Florida and Western Carolina...They played some shitty teams too. Michigan beat Notre Dame who was number 2, Beat a good Penn State team who was ranked at the time, Beat Wisconsin a top 10 team, beat a goo Iowa team and Northwestern wasnt to bad this year. Schedule was just tough and they produced better. Enough said!
How many of the players from Division 1 ball go to the pros? Not all that many, and you really can't compare Divison 2 to Division 1. Even in the pros, after playoff season teams are pretty beat up. If Michigan were to go into the playoffs and have to play teams like Notre Dame, USC, Florida and finish it off at Ohio State, I think it would just be too much. Playing huge powerhouses week after week would just be too rough on the players. I don't like the BCS system, but for practicalities sake I think it is better than a playoff system as of now.
But it wouldnt be like that. Have ten teams and do it like 1 vs. 10, 2 vs. 9 and so on like in college basketball. It would make a little sense I just think they should not screw people over for tv ratings!
God I have posted to much on this but. Better record just because they are in the SEC and play one more game. They lost to a worse team and both teams are one loss. The schedule isnt much harder if at all. MICHIGAN deserved it straight up no question. They are a better team than Florida and we will see that when OSU beats them by alot more than 3
I really don't think many pollsters are considering notre dame to be much of a quality win. they've gotten crushed by the last three good teams they've played. nd is good enough to beat up on the below average teams but not good enough to play with the big boys yet. and iowa, penn state and northwestern are NOT good teams this year. the big ten as a whole was pretty bad. i mean purdue was fifth this year while i believe tennessee was fifth in the sec, not much of a comparison there. wisconsin is also unproven, great record but not against anyone of note. i think what it came down to is that there really was no way anyone could prove that michigan was better than florida or vice versa and the pollsters didn't want to screw over the sec again.
Boise State is undefeated because they play one of the weakest schedules in the nation. They didn't play a single ranked team and the only real team they played was Oregon State (the only reason I consider them a real team is because they upset USC this year). If they manage to beat Oklahoma this year it would be huge but its unlikely the game will even be close.
WOW i really hope you just watched the Boise state game!!! now that was a well played game! and very close in over time! Bosie state had some of the best trick plays
Oregon State deff had a very good year, they beat USC and won their bowl game by one and the last sec.
It was good to see USC win over Michigan... and all the ppl on here saying how michigan is such a good team and they should play the number one team and shit like that .. haha they got their ass kicked by usc who lost to oregon state!!!! now that is sad!
Now its just ohio state and florida ... i hope florida wins!!!!
Yeah thats what I was thinking but I guess the strength of Boise State's schedule was a little weak. I think they still deserve it though because going undefeated is still great even if they didnt play the greatest teams.
