where do u guys think skiing is going to be? I think that spinning on to diffrent axis's will be where its at in 5 years, like skiing no you set your axis, spin and land on your feet, what i am going to be tring to do is like a switch 3 late flat spin or, switch 540 cork 3, bios sort of do that but i think it would be sicker if you would define the 2 diffrence tricks better...
i think its going to get bigger. I think we may see more team oriented videos.. Like the way skateboarding is going.. Personally i think this is going to be the year all the young guns come up and take over..
'That's What I Love about highschool girls. As I get older they stay the same age.'
well then consider him the barometer for whats to come, i think that unnatural and switch unnatural will become more common, and things will be more style oriented, less of the hucking 10s and 12s of the past and just smaller(in spins), bigger, slower spins, and well see bigger jumps, and more technical rails
no man, u could go farther, like switch cork 1620 or somthin, it would just lose all style, thats where i see jon going, but i think itll become more simple, like in a good slope run u wont see anything bigger than maybe a swtich unn 7
rails are the future i think! i think we will find more obstacles onto to rails or rail transfers it will become what rollerblading and skating is still that vert side but the very popular steet/rails, maybe even some urban gaps!
purgatory possy -->
its gonna either be what D-Spin said, or its gonna be the same tricks now only with flawless style and they will be HUGE, in 5 years if we progress the way we have been...200 foot jumps! and the pros will throw switch cork 1080s blunt over them. Plus someone has to invent a way to ski all year around, besides glaciers...and soon.

'Micheal Jackson was born a black man and will die a white woman'
'how many snowboarders does it take to screw in a ghtbulb?..............10, 1 to do it, 9 to say that they can do that.'
The way it is going to go is that everything is going to be slowed down. Look at snowboarding, all the guys who are pro almost never flail ever and they have taken it to the BC. That is where it is going to go. All the huge smooth tricks will be transfered from the park to the backcountry, especially cliffs.
Its so wierd. Im starting to see really old grams and gramps up on the mtn starting to board. They say that boarding is easier on the knees? lol ne wayz, I think skiing will grow for a while, then it'll decline and go back to boarding...i think the popularity will juggle between the two..
Lateralis, don't stereotype 10-14 year olds, i bought my first pair of twin tips 3 years ago (the 1080 groms) and when i bought them I dont evan think i knew of tanner hall, C.R and crap.. I just started doing it.
i think contests will blend halfpipe and slopestyle. Like ther will be a slopestyle course, then at the bottom you ski that halfpipe, no more two separate contests. Maybe tricks will blend with old school, like zero spin spreads like someone was talking about.
i think the real god skiiers will not do comps and ride for videos and shit if more money comes into the industry.... just like skateboarding... some of the best pros that skate have never entered a comp in there life but there just isnt enough money in the skiing industry for people not to enter comps at this time.
Lateralis may be right about parks dying out... but probably not by choice. With the way insurance is going and the fact that everyone wants massive jumps built, if there are a couple of severe injuries or deaths there is no way that resorts would even bother building something that is such a financial risk. People out there have to stay smart and be careful or we're going to lose the priveledge of man made terrain parks at resorts.
So.... don't be stupid when you're riding.
i think that parks will always remain, but that they are going to be expensive to ride in. Personally, I like the idea of pay-to-ride parks. I think that it provides more incentive for the hill to develop their park as well as help to subsidize the insurance costs.
Hey Kids! Sell Crack to Support Newschoolers! FROSTMONKEY
I think it will become more like snowboarding, where less emphasis is on the name of the stupid trick and more on how well you do it. They don't even call a cork 7, a cork 7 anymore. Just a regular 7. Thats how it should be in skiing too.
A friend will help you move.
A really good friend will help you move a body.
look at snowboarding mags...theres hardly any park pics, just bc booters and urban rails. i also think that the pros arent gonnna enter comps anymore and theyre just gonna be in vids. thats where the futures at.
yup. backcountry and urban, anything in the park will have to be huge or really tech. I'd like to see more people develop their own personal/recognizable style, which is something that just takes time. people have to progress to new tricks and them make them look different than anyone else doing them.
Dude I was fine before you tried to turn me into a cake - me after ralphing after being antiqued
