and yes i used the searchbar..
but anyway i tore my acl and partially tore my meniscus in february, had surgery in march.. im going to the orthopedic guy next thursday to get fitted for a custom brace
now ive been doing some research and it seems like CTi2 braces are the best for high impact sports (skiing, mountain biking, dirt biking, wakeboarding, etc.) and im leaning toward them. my dad has 2 CTi2 custom braces (he had acl reconstruction last december) and he loves them. heres my question: is my doctor going to prescribe some random knee brace and i have to go with that? or do i get to pick out a brace/ask if he can prescribe a CTi2 brace?

lemme know if you want in
my doctor suggest a brace to me, but i had already done my research and decided on another brace. he'll probably give you a couple options as far as braces go and suggest one to you. i ended up going with the breg x2k brace because its basically meant for the sport i play the most (football).
but just talk to the guy and make sure he knows what sports you're into, just to be safe
you may also want to keep this in mind, but breg offers a guaruntee on their braces (the ones for skiing in particular) where if you re-injure yourself while wearing the brace, they will cover all medical bills
make sure knows what he's doing when he takes the measurements. i was lucky enough to have a rep from breg take the measurments for me, and she was telling me that lots of the time doctors will mess up when measuring and the brace doesnt fit properly
