Religion has caused every war, some way or another.

if you actuallly think about it hard without automattically bashing this thread. you'll see it has. Then again, im not saying to abolish religion because its bad, hell no. I am Catholic, but its funny how some people can precieve religion in extremist ways to create wars / etc. blah

It gives a lot of people something to believe in, and just because you aren't religous doens't mean other people can't be. Technically by definition by not being religous, you are still practicing a certain idealogy/thoughts about the way the universe started. Its just something else to belive in, that is much older than the last 100 years where religion died out, and set into society.

yea, the original premise of the war had nothing to do with it.

it developed into a civil war against varying factions within the same religion/ethnicities.

i think that was about facism and invading other countries. the jew thing played a part on the side. it wasn't until later in the war that the allies realized what the nazis were doing. it definitley wasn't the main reason.

To begin with, you are right. It was direct disreguard of the treaty from WWI, and continued German military building, until they invaded Czech, and Poland, then eventually france and Italy. However all these actions were based off of the Nazi party platform, and in that same platform was a sheer hatred for the jewish. They were made the scapegoat, and people were told that their economic problems were due to the jews, so naturally everyone was hating them.

well, they call it a religous war, we don't. if we adopted there perspective there would be world wide reprisals from non -radical islamists. we invaded afghanistan because the country was run by a ruthless regime that severly cut the rights of women and subjected their people to the opium trade within the country and additionally allowed a terroist organization, known as Al Qaeda to operate freely within its borders, which was revealed later that the pilots who crashed into the towers had an affiliation with the organization.

quite frankly, the pilots of those airplanes could have had any reason to crash those planes into those towers, but as long as they were affiliated with Al-Qaeda or had a connection with afghanistan, it wouldn't have mattered what their reason was.

I hate to agree with you, but it is mostly true.

religions cause problems, they are exclutionary (which may not be a word, and if it isn't, then it is now) and when people are excluded that breeds hate and hate breeds war and people fight and people die and shit happens all because we're too afraid of the unknown.

that didnt start it, Hitler used the Jews as a Scapegoat for all of Germany's troubles during the depression. What started it was Hitler and his allies wanting to control the world.

there are religions that are perfectly civilized and humane such as catholicism, christianity and judaism, but religions such as muslim where they have so many strict rules and twisted believes is where it crosses the line.

also religion didnt start WWI or WWII. WWI was started from the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo on June 28th, 1914. a man by the name of Gavrilo Princip of the Black Hand in Austria-Hungary committed this crime. so began the first invasion of Austria-Hungary into Serbia. at this time, Germany also invaded Belgium because they wanted that land.

WWI was started all around the assassination and then became a world war from allies on each Allied and Central powers.

WWII however, was started from the treaty of versailles. this is a document signed by germany on the terms of their defeat on WWI. the terms were far too harsh for Germany (ie. they had to pay for all the damages and repaires caused by WWI). this brought germany into a great depression, thus the rise of Adolf Hitler. he began preaching to the germans that he had a way out and that he could save germany from its economical depression. since no one else would take control of the country, he assumed power (dictatorship). he also managed to brainwash half his population into hating jews and cripples and other related disabilities. hitler formed his army of nazis which then began WWII by the invasion of Poland, where they were also looking for the land. because of this, france and brittian declared war on germany. at the time, germany was allied with Italy's Mussolini and Japan. These 2 additional nations also joined germany in defending themselves against Brittian and France. When they came in and it became too much for brittian and france, the solviet union and the united states aided the allied power.

so there you have it. religion did not cause the two biggest wars the world has ever seen. religion is only the cause of conflict in the middle east because the israelis and pakastanis just cant seem to get along and be friends.

The revolutionary and the Civil War were OBVIOUSLY caused by religion...right? The Vietnam War was also for an obvious religous reason, as was the Korean. WWI definately had nothing to do with alliances and greed, it was all about religion. The War of 1812 was another one strictly caused by religion.

Come on, did you even think for more than 10 seconds about this topic when you made the thread? It sure doesn't seem like it. You kids are so anti-church type religion that you don't even realize what you're saying. Religion can be a good thing. In fact, for most people that follow a reputable religion quite actively lead decent lives and are good people.

Yes, Islamic.  Last time I checked Islam was a religion.  I'm not saying that is their motive for the wars or attacks, but it plays a big part in them.

Haha, to say the LEADING cause of WW1 was the assasination, you are completely wrong. The main reason WW1 happenedue to the build up of arms around that era, and several secret treaties that caused every nation to fold into the war one way or another.

Any number of things have started wars throughout history. Religion is a major factor in many, but it actually started very few wars. Usually a war is a combination of many factors, the biggest being human nature. We fight over shit, plain and simple. I guess that could cover it all, but wars have been fought over money, land, rights, religion, individuals, and denominations. In most cases, all of those things come into play in any given conflict, but rarely can you single out any one factor as the one that "started it".

yeah well those people shouldnt be alowwed to just immigrate to our country and expect everything to be bent for them and their laws, "oh em gee its against my religion to take off my hijab" but then again your NOT allowwed to be wearing anything for your passport, heathcard, drivers license... yet they can bend those laws..

and others religios parents complain to the public schools they send their children to and take away the fun and artsy crafts we have used to have for holidays.

its just fustrating.

im not gonna argue with a kid with gore in his username. whatever connontation that may be. this is my final comment. we never declared it a religous war. they did. if we did there would be hell to pay. we went to war with them not because they are islamic but because of what they did to the american people and what they want to do to the western world which is to attack our freedoms and quality of life.

bosnia was an ethnic war. bosnia and herzegovina wanted independence. milosevic just pulled a hitler with his genocides and ethnic cleansing. again, definitley not the premise of the war.
